As a kid, I used to go skiing on Christmas. Or go to the movies and get chinese food. Just thought it was a jewish thing to do!
LOL!
The funny thing is, that for us, Christmas Day is a day to spend with friends, not so much family. Christmas Eve/midnight is the family time.
Atlantic City is actually quite crowded Christmas Eve/Christmas Day. We went down a few years ago from the 21-23 and it was pretty much dead. We mentioned it to an employee, and they said it was the calm before the storm, just wait until 24/25, they get packed.
Family Holiday get togethers don't mean as much to people anymore. The rate of people going to restaurants instead of home cooking has risen incredibally, and places like Disney, Vegas, etc. boom during those times.
The last 2 years for winter break, I have been in Costa Rica. Had no idea it was Hanukah or Christmas at all!
Oooh, AC sounds fun, I haven't been there in ages!
That's right. We are thinking of renting that villa for my birthday in 2008.
Is your family in CR this year?
I miss it, it was warm there. This will be my first winter break in ages not going somewhere! The year before Costa Rica, I was in Israel. The one before that I was in Chicago, before that was a cruise.
Ah, New Years in NYC.
I celebrated a few Christmas' in the boonies of NY state at my friends family, and one New Years in Florida at my Dad's. That's about it.
I want to go to Disney for New years so bad! I'm too much of a disney freak for my own good!
After going to Vegas, AC seems so out dated! It's still a good time though. Even though I have never advanced past nickel slots.
I don't even remember AC. But it's much closer than Vegas!
Sushi for lunch. It was good.
Now back to work...
Yum, sushi!
icky
I only eat California rolls, I love those! I'm eating a salad now, but may stop and get some sushi on my way home from les Miz tonight.
I love sushi. Love it. All of it.
Ok. Not all of it. But a lot of it.
Hubby just started eating California Rolls. Just not my fancy. I'll just live on the Hibachi!!
DD, ya know that great sushi place I took you to last year? Another branch of that restaurant is right down the street from me!!!
I don't know Hibachi stuff at all!
Oh, L, Hibachi is phenomenal. Besides the chef's being funny and cooking in front of you, the food is awesome. There are a few really good places in NJ, but the best is right over the border in NY State called Mt Fuji's. Absolutely amazing. They also make a mean Mai Tai!!
I think there is a Benihana around here somewhere, does that count?
no clue what that is
Ok, then I guess I won't go there!
Benihana is that style of service. It's fun.
We'll have to do sushi when I'm there.
