Now Tiff is coming too? What a party!!
No school today or tomorrow, parent teacher conferences.
Today I am chaperoning a bowling party, tomorrow taking six 11 year olds ice skating at Bryant Park.

Good morning, snow on the way here. My sister's kids in OK have a snow day. Crazy weather.
Boo for snow!
Although it seems weird that it is almost Dec and we haven't had any yet. I wouldn't mind snow for like a day, and then go back to being warm again!

I am having the basement finished and am shopping for new furniture this afternoon, much fun.
I think we had our snow for the season.
Our cold snap ended overnight. We're back to rain. This is one for the books... all sorts of books. Wettest month EVER in Seattle. Floods. Rain and wind storms. Snow. We saw an entire season in 30 short days.
Any late night mojitians around tonight?
I am ashamed to say that I am still up! I have to work tomorrow! (I mean "today"!)
How are you, DD? xxoo
Hiya Ms. P.
I'm good... went to see Almodovar's new film, "Volver." Still pondering it. I had a latte during the movie... I think I'll be up for a while.
I went to Target tonight. The paint fumes are making us all crazy. We needed fresh air...and lots of other things, too, it turns out. Good thing Target has them all!
I love Target.
Yeah, paint fumes can be a bit much. How does it look? Are you all done?
DONE??? HA HA HA HA HA!
This will take another week or week-and-a-half, I'm sure. I worry about the kids the most, but they don't seem to be affected at all! They just roll with the punches, you know?
You seem a little down, DD. I'm sorry.
Just in an Almodovar state of mind.
A week/week-and-a-half? Man, that's a paint job! I'm used to getting it done in a day or two, tops.
My ex and I had a lot of fun painting our old house. We had different themed rooms, of all colors. We even had the 'Pollock' room... we painted the walls a matte color, then sprayed with ketchup bottles (and our hands and anything that would splatter) the exact same color, but in a gloss.
Well, there is only one person doing all the painting and he has A LOT to do. First, all the kitchen cabinets had to be sanded and painted, which takes time. Then he painted the front door and railings, which is a pain because you have to use this special paint that takes for-freaking-ever to dry. Now the living room, which is 20 x 20 with cathedral ceilings. THEN the foyer and all the walls and doors and railings that go upstairs. Oh, the walls leading down to the first floor, too!
I know this is boring, but I gotta whine to someone. Thanks for listening, Doctor DD!
Whine away! *takes another drink from his cyber-mojito*
That's a lot of painting! It sounds like my parent's idea of painting. Paint the whole house at once.
But now that I think about it, we also painted the house in a day or two. But there were lots of us.
I wish I could paint my apt. Right now it's all white, and the beams are baby-blue. I'd like to paint it to be a little more rustic. Maybe next Spring, when I renew my lease.
I grew up in ahouse in which everything was black and white...with a little red thrown in for color. My mother was obsessed with black and white.
When I started to live on my own, I painted every room of every apartment I had a different color! Same with my houses!
The family room is a deep teal! It's really cool! It really shows off the artwork.
I used to do ALL the painting myself, but that is so over!!!
Have a good Friday everyone!

Happy Friday, all... How is everyone?
I, for one, am exhausted. I got an emergency call yesterday morning to please come down and do the Princess show at Disneyland, plus I was already scheduled to carol at the hotels that afternoon/evening, so I ended up singing/doing shows for 12 hours straight. Oy. Freakin'. Vey.
Tonight I have a gig down in Costa Mesa...about a 110 mile round-trip. And it'll be rush hour on my way down there. UGH.
But I'm not complaining! I swear! I'm very grateful for all the work. I'm just tired.
That is a long day! Do you have time off this weekend?

Nah. I don't have a day off til December 17th.
Actually, I'd appreciate it if you'd send me some good vibes, 'cause I have an audition after a two-hour gig tomorrow, and a callback (for something else, obviously) in between two two-hour gigs on Wednesday! (And of course, they're all over town...nothing's close to each other. Blah.)
You are one busy lass, Ms. Amato.
Sending you all the good vibes from the NW, though I'm sure you will nail those auditions.
Wow, Erika! That's busy.
Greetings (and good vibes) from Queens!

Thanks so much, guys! I'm just taking as much work as I can right now (busiest time of the year for singers), since there's no guarantee I'll be working in January! :-P
