my friend in college read tarot cards for me. he did a year-round set up. he told me late summer/early fall a male was going to come into my life who was going to have a huge influence on me and i'd look up to him a lot. that's exactly when i met a friend (a male) who helped me to come out.
i also went to a psychic in the city once... one of those that sits in the window. i REALLY got freaked out when she asked me who a certain person was, giving me their first name. it was the person i had just broken up with only 2 months before that i was still kind of upset over.

"Last December, I had my tarot cards read. The woman told me that... I would meet a potential mate by September."
Well, September came and went and I didn't meet anyone. I'm kinda bummed, actually. Oh, well.

I am skeptical about anything unscientific, religion whatever. I did however meet two last year, and both made predictions that were very significant without any information or tells from me. I know predictions are open for interpretations.
When I realized one of the predictions came true, I almost fainted. I could not believe it; I was a little shocked because I had completely forgotten about it. I actually want to go to another one, but not sure where to turn. I cannot go back to the two that I met before. Like I said, I am skeptical about everything and I know about the power of suggestibility. The thing that I liked most about my readings was how good it felt to have someone who did not know me give me advice. The advice was simple “play with fire you get burned,” etc, my friends say things all the time, and it is just nice to hear it from another voice. I have never been to therapy so maybe it is like that?

I'm skeptical too, but at the same time I try to have an open mind. Like I said in my first post, the woman was right on the money regarding my new job. Thus, I was expecting/hoping she'd be right about the love thing.

Posted: 10/2/06 at 10:42amI've been to one, who was spot on about my personality...which I imagine isn't too difficult to read. However, she told me that by the time I was 18 I'd have two potential loves in my life, one of whom will be more physical, and one who could mean a lot more. Anytime now, boys. We've got three months left.

They were both "he’s." I won’t disclose the first prediction because it would require a lot of typing LOL. It is also personal.
The second psychic said, "something very big is going to happen to you very soon." This guy was obsessed with numbers and birth times, etc. At least he looked at it differently than just reading cards. I thought he meant like a job or something. I really needed one, or that I would sell a script or something. I was not even thinking about relationships.
Anyways like two weeks later....I received a call from my ex-ex-boyfriend that he was divorcing his wife. It took me like 3 years to get over that guy. So it was kind of shocking. I always knew it was going to happen cause they got married like a month after we broke up. She knew about his “past” and me so it was inevitable. He did not say much other that it was over and he was having a hard time getting through it. I could not believe my ears. I didn’t really think much of it other than being quite shocking.
So on that same day, my ex-boyfriend (another guy) sent me several texts begging me to meet him that night. So I did. I had not seen or spoken to him after he dumped me six months earlier. It was a messy breakup and the wounds were still open for me. I know that time and distance in healing are important so I just stayed away from him.
Anyways he professed his love for me, and was just a mess in my arms. He also told me he was moving to Minnesota in two weeks, but could not think of anything or anyone but me. The wounds were still fresh from that breakup, so it hit me like a ton of bricks.
Shortly after our meeting, I realized the prophecy. Right there on the street, my eyes teared up. I know it is a bit sardonic, but I felt so good in the wake of his pain. I felt like all those months of suffering at the hands of those jerks was laid to rest as the tables had turned. I was free. I invested so much into those relationships only to be forsaken by selfish immaturity. It was poetic justice.
So you know the rule... if you love them, set 'em free. No matter what anyone says, they ALWAYS come back. Needless to say, too little too late.

Speaking of "psychics"....I heard about this on "Weekend Update"
Miss Cleo comes out
The queen of late-night infomercial psychics tells us what you might not predict: She’s a lesbian.
By Greg Hernandez
Excerpted from The Advocate October 10, 2006
She’s known for the catchphrase “The cards never lie,” and now Miss Cleo, the controversial former infomercial psychic, is finally telling some truths—about herself.
From the late 1990s through 2002, the woman whose real name is Youree Dell Cleomili Harris was a late-night staple who, in a thick Jamaican accent, urged viewers to dial a charge-by-the-minute 900 number to have their fortunes read.
What those viewers didn’t know, and what some members of her own family still don’t know, is that Miss Cleo is a lesbian. Four years after the infomercials were pulled from the air under a cloud of various lawsuits and federal and state investigations, Harris says she has been inspired to come out publicly by a teenage godson.
“He and I started talking when he was concerned about coming out. He was 16. When he made the decision I told him I’d be there to support him 100%, and he embraced [coming out] wholeheartedly,” Harris says. “It’s a different vibe than when I was his age, being raised Catholic in an all-girls boarding school. But he was afraid of nothing, and I thought, I can’t be a hypocrite. This boy is going to force me to put my money where my mouth is.”
On the late-night infomercials, Miss Cleo said she was a mystical shaman from Jamaica. Doubt was cast on that claim when a Florida newspaper reported that she had been born in Los Angeles. But Harris simply says, “I am who I say I am,” and insists she has Jamaican roots. She says she’s actually not a psychic but more of a spiritual counselor or spiritual adviser.
“I’m more a shaman, an elder in a community who has visions and gives direction to people in their village. My clients and my students are my village. I take care of this community. If you sit down at my table, you have to take away a lesson and not just learn what is going to happen tomorrow. I also perform weddings—both gay and straight marriages—and house cleansings and blessings.”
Wearing her trademark headdress, colorful robes, and chunky jewelry on the infomercials, Harris also helped hawk a Web-based psychic consultation service, a line of at-home tarot products, apparel, and even an online dating service. It was all part of a business empire constructed by wealthy South Florida businessman Steven Feder and his cousin Peter Stolz, and the key to their empire was Miss Cleo.
She is sure that coming out will be quite liberating, but she still has some trepidation. “The reason it’s scary is because in my personal experience, black cultures throughout the world have a more difficult time accepting homosexuality in their family. I have family members who will be shocked; they don’t know. I have some family members who are very close to me, and they do know. But I’ve been afraid of the wrath, of the exile. When I came out to a number of friends in the late ’80s I had a number of friends who turned their backs on me and walked away. That was really intense. I really believed they were my
