Tiffanys! Oh wait...this is theater!
Just got back from my midterm. I need pot, alcohol, mojitos, chocolate -- the whole thing.
It wasn't that hard, but I screwed up two minor details which end up dropping my grade rather harshly. I'd give you the details, but no reason to bore you all again.
So...DRINK!

Last 5 Years is great. The CD is not great... Norbert and Sherie come across as way to whiny (I love it how we're on a first name basis... if only they knew). There are some minor scenes in the play that interestingly enough have a major influence on one's interpretation of the show. Of course, that hasn't kept the CD from playing over and over again in my car.
I've heard he's very gracious, DG.

I put in Wild Party a few weeks ago and now love it. What a great cast. I knew Brian D'Arcy (not well) when he was here and Taye, Idina are escellent.
L5Y started here in the northern suburbs.

Yes, I'm learning quite a bit. However, when your grades do not reflect your knowledge learned, it can be rather frustrating. I'll chalk it up to extreme amount of outside stress in my life these days...
I'm sure I'll improve with time.
I'm the biggest L5Y -- many of my friends are obsessed with it. I don't quite see the extreme appeal, and I have seen it. Some scenes jumped out at me and I was able to see some of what makes it so unique and interesting, as well as good. But overall, I'll take "Songs for a New World" any day.
Lauren Kennedy is excellent -- I jsut saw her perform on Tuesday in a songbook concert for Bill Russell, who wrote Sideshow.

I haven't heard either of the Wild Parties.
I saw Jon and Jen (Lippa - the other Wild Party) earlier this year, blew me away.

*sigh*
Maybe after this weekend and midterms, yes. Well, no. But I can dream, right?
The Wild Party had both a Broadway (LaChiusa) and Off-Broadway (Lippa) productions at the same time.

That was LaChiusa's.
Lippa had Idina Menzel (hence it's popularity), Taye Diggs, and a million others.
Both had tremendous casts.

Posted: 11/1/05 at 12:35pmWasn't it pre-Wicked? Idina was already that popular before Wicked?

No, the recording SURGED in popularity after-Wicked.
I think LaChiusa's is musically superior in terms of quality, but Lippa's is like pop music. Not necessarily amazing, but so damn catchy.

Don't worry Liotte -- they'd actually be a bit dark for you, with the exception of SFANW. But SFANW is still kind of weird, in my opinion, even though I love the music.
How goes it today?

I have a very sore throat today.
Going to the bank, the gym, and job hunting.
And then seeing Spamalot tonight.

Feel better Liotte!
Why the gym with a sore throat? You should take it easy.
Have fun at Spamalot!
