Hey L - I walked through the Sears on State Street and picked you up a few pairs of shorts and a hammer and a saw since it was Sears.
good - then she can build her own shorts!
Thanks brdlwyr!!
What's the hammer and saw for?
that was a strange segue...
DD- is the Blood Brothers that one that is in London now?

Its Sears - in the Chicago Loop where you can buy shorts and tools! I was just being kind and picking up some supplies for L.
L - yep, it's the same Blood Brothers. I think it's the first time a NW theater produces it.
Belated Liotte song:
If you want this choice position
Have a cheery disposition
Rosy cheeks, no warts!
Play games, all sorts
You must be kind, you must be witty
Very sweet and fairly pretty
Take us on outings, give us treats
Sing songs, bring sweets
Never be cross or cruel
Never give us castor oil or gruel
Love us as a son and daughter
And never smell of barley water
If you won't scold and dominate us
We will never give you cause to hate us
We won't hide your spectacles
So you can't see
Put toads in your bed
Or pepper in your tea
Hurry, Nanny!
Many thanks
Sincerely,

And, how did we miss this gem for our earlier discussion:
hello mudda, hello fadda
here i am at camp granada
camp is very entertaining
they say we'll have some fun when it stops raining
i went hiking with joe spivy
he developed poison ivy
you remeber leonard skinner
he got ptomaine poisoning last night after dinner
all the counslers hate the waiters
and the lake has alligators
and the head coach wants no sissies
so he reads to us from something called uylesses
i dont want this, should i scare ya
but my bunk mate has malaria
you remember jeffery hardy
they're about to organize a seaching party
take me home, o mudda fudda
take me home, i hate granada
don't leave me out in the forest
where i might get eaten by a bear
take me home, i promise i will not make noise
or mess the house with other boys
o please don't make me stay
i've been here one whole day
dearest fadda, darling mudda
how's my precious little brudda
let me come home, if you miss me
i would even let aunt bertha hug and kiss me
wait a minute, it stopped hailing
guys are swimming, gals are sailing
playing base ball, gee that's bedda
mudda fudda kindly disregard this letter!
Thanks for the song OTA! And the hammer and saw brdlwyr (though what I will use them for I have no idea, maybe cutting some of my jeans into shorts).
And DD- I loved that show when I saw it in 2000, it was one of my favorites. How long will it run for, in case I'm in seattle and can come check it out?
ooh ooh - if you go to Seattle, you'll probably need a chaperone *hint* *hint*
BL - I LOVE that song!!! Actually, any Alan Sherman song - or Tom Lehrer song for that matter...
I love "Hello Muddah, Hello Fadduh". SO FUNNY!
I only have a half hour left at home!!! Waaaaaah!!!
*grabs Liotte by the ankles* "Don't go"
or, alternate ending
*grabs Liotte by the ankles* "Take me with you"
LOL
This is probably like 10 pages back, but Liotte, where are you going?
Oy shira, much easier for you to look back a few pages than for me to explain it all again....
'twas explained -- have a fantastic time!
Thanks!
Still waiting to hear more from DD about his show....

L... Blood Brothers runs during the month of October. I think we open Oct. 7 and run through the 29th.
WAIT A MINUTE
I was so distracted being excited for Liotte that I just realized that getting that fab job in the Hamptons means no family visit in August to Mercer Island.
I'm still humming, 'Hello Mudda, Hello Fadda.'

Do you guys know this one?
You Went The Wrong Way, Old King Louie
by Allan Sherman
Louis the Sixteenth was the King of France in 1789.
He was worse than Louis the Fifteenth.
He was worse than Louis the Fourteenth.
He was worse than Louis the Thirteenth.
He was the worst since Louis the First.
King Louis was living like a king, but the people were living rotten.
So the people, they started an uprising which they called the
French Revolution, and of course you remember their battle cry,
which will never be forgotten:
You went the wrong way, Old King Louie.
You made the population cry.
'Cause all you did was sit and pet
With Marie Antoinette
In your place at Versailles.
And now the country's gone kablooie.
So we are giving you the air.
That oughta teach you not to
Spend all your time fooling 'round
At the Folies Bergere.
If you had been a nicer king,
We wouldn't do a thing,
But you were bad, you must admit.
We're gonna take you and the Queen
Down to the guillotine,
And shorten you a little bit.
You came the wrong way, Old King Louie.
And now you ain't got far to go.
Too bad you won't be here to see
That great big Eiffel Tower,
Or Brigitte Bardot.
To you King Louie we say fooey.
You disappointed all of France.
But then what else could we expect
From a king in silk stockings
And pink satin pants.
You filled your stomach with chop suey.
And also crepe suzettes and steak.
And when they told your wife Marie
That nobody had bread, she said
"Let 'em eat cake."
We're gonna take you and the Queen
Down to the guillotine,
It's somewhere in the heart of town.
And when that fella's through
With what he's gonna do,
You'll have no place to hang your crown.
You came the wrong way Old King Louie.
Now we must put you on the shelf.
That's why the people are revolting, 'cause Louie,
You're pretty revolting yourself!
