Kristin is trying to make a name for herself in Hollywood. Sometimes, that means taking part in bad movies.

I know almost all people have to make bad movies to start to make a name for themselves. But I feel bad for her that her whole Broadway fanbase has to watch her make these bad movies. When you are unknown you don't have anybody keeping track of have many bad movies you make(until later).

Honestly, I think she has more of choice. She could take smaller parts in indie films. I am sure she would get offered them if she auditioned. She is a celebrity and would get a smaller film some attention.

My sense is also that Kristin is a comedian and very physical. I think she chooses films that are meant (on paper anyway) to showcase her comedic and character acting abilities. She has worked with some big names actors and that gives her much more power, especially if she makes connections with them and becomes their friend. She is friends with Robin Williams now-don't tell me that is a bad thing in Hollywood.

Plus, she will make more $$$ in a big budget picture even if it flops.

The same fate seems to have be-fallen the uber-talented Kristin Davis of Sex and the City. She seems to be typecast playing old men's wives in Disney films. She deserves much better, but I am sure she is happy to be a working actress on big name projects.

Both women can take projects with healthier paychecks in order to make more unique professional choices in their down time. Like she made 2 big budget clunkers and then got to do Running with Scissors which is more indie.

Perhaps it's harder to get great parts when you are 5 feet tall and have a squeeky little speaking voice!There's not that much out there for her to play, I would think, and let's face it, fine acting is not her strongest suit. Thanks for the reminder of DeVito naked- I haven't eaten dinner yet, so I'll go hurln advance.....

nothing says she HAS to do movies. although i don't particularly like her, i know i can at least admit she's amazing at what she does.... on stage. why doesn't she just stay with broadway? i agree with the comment made much earlier on.. how many movies (that are gonna actually be entertaining) have roles for her?

and she wasn't exactly fit for The West Wing, IMO. i kinda stopped watching (after never missing an episode) when she joined. she just doesn't do it for me.
