Why does anyone still support GW Bush?

Saying that Bush is the worst president of all time is extremely naiive to say. A bad president? Sure. The worst? Not at all.

All Bush said was that he was putting back 20,000 troops, and said lots of big "tough" words that he couldn't handle...I don't support him, never have, never will. I think he's a poor excuse a sa leader, with no idea on how to bring people together.

How to properly use its/it's: Its is the possessive. It's is the contraction for it is...

Bush is without a doubt the worst president ever.

And the last time I was naive was decades before you were born.

And, by the way, the correct neoconservative phrase is Islamo-Fascist or Islamist but never use the adjectival form "Islamic" as an insult.

"Islamists" are people who use the otherwise peaceful religion of Islam for political purposes.

PalJoey, you are so wrong. He is NOT the worst president ever. I got a rebate check for $600 five years ago thanks to the amazing tax credits President Bush made the IRS give me. SIX-HUNDRED DOLLARS! Do you know how many times I can rush a Broadway show with that much money?

As you used to sing in front of your mirror when YOU were a teenager, "Everybody rise!"

What I cannot stand is the fact that because of the war in IRAQ, people in our OWN country continue to suffer.

Hmm...maybe we'd have some military manpower to enforce the "border problems" if there weren't 132,000 American soldiers in Iraq fighting a war that had absolutely nothing to do with 9/11.

Not to mention the 3,010 that have been killed and the 22,834 wounded.

Maybe the military could have been there to evacuate the 1,723 Americans who died during hurricane Katrina.

And oh, wait...."the great decider"/"educator in chief" is just about to send 21,500 more troops...not to Afghanistan mind you, where the individual responsible for killing 2,740 Americans on September 11th is allegedly hiding, but to Iraq.....because they have our oil...

If W ISN'T the worst president ever, who the hell is and why?

Miss P I am SO glad you mentioned the $300 rebate. It featured in Futurama tonight and it was like a bad dream days later- "Did we really all get checks for $300?"

People who say Bush is the worst president ever haven't heard of Andrew Jackson!

Then again, I wouldn't even say that he's a bad president. I like Bush's foreign policy, but not his domestic (kind of how I feel about FDR I suppose.) He doesn't veto enough and he's way too large government. But, hey, I'm all for deposing horrible dictators and encouraging democracy in the Middle East.

Then you are not in favor of supporting our American dictator wannabe?

Huh? What about it do you like?

If Bush were a dictator, almost all of the people in this thread would be in the gulag right now so I think that point's pretty much moot. I'll also remind you that Lincoln suspended habeas corpus, and I don't see threads about him being a dictator-wannabe.

As for his foreign policy, I like how Bush isn't isolationist and/or just trying to keep the UN happy. And I like how he's standing up to terrorists and dictators who break treaties and threaten the world's safety (and also happen to support terrorism.)

Poor misguided supporters. The good news is that there are very few of you left. The rest of America has finally woken up and said enough is enough of Mr Bush.

That's nice. Not like Bush can run again anyway, so who cares? And it's not as though I want to have the man's babies or like I think he's the best president EVAR (I only prefer him to some candidates, like Kerry.) But I don't know, I don't think it's very fair to call people misguided/retarded/etc just because you disagree with their politics. I wouldn't say that about people who liked Clinton or Kerry.

And as usual. most of you won't answer the question (a real question for real grown-ups in the real world) of IF you want the USA to win the war on terror.

Islamic-fascists want to win.

The people who voluntarily signed up for the military and gave their lives for their country, you mean, and whose death you are belittling by turning them into statistics for your propaganda and not supporting their cause?

If opposing a war means belittling the deaths of soldiers then it would seem to follow that no wars can ever be opposed. Surely that's not what you mean.

I agree. Bush is the worst president ever.

The ramifications of his idiocy will be felt around the world for decades to come.

He's FAR worse than Andrew Jackson ever was.

Except for maybe in the swimsuit competition, and only because he wore heels.

Honestly, I do feel that way. I don't believe you can support the troops yet at the same time not support the cause. We're already in the war, whether people like it or not, and we're not getting out anytime soon; whether or not we should be in it is right now not the question to be asking. Lack of public support for a war can be absolutely disastrous--look at Vietnam.

No one was worse than Andrew Jackson. The man was so hated they created a political party just to oppose him!

But if you want other "bad" presidents, look no further than Ulysses Grant and Andrew Johnson.
