I mean come on.
the songs are embarassing and completely unenjoyable (except for the one where michelle sings about wanting a guy with a bike).
Its possibly the cheapest looking movie ive watched in a long time.
the acting is muggy.
seriously how the **** do you go from the glorious campy good time that was Grease to this tragically misguided cluster****?

Total guilty pleasure for me. I don't really like the movie as a whole, but I LOVE the songs.
To answer your question, though . . . it seemed like they cared more about cashing in on Grease's fame than actually making a good movie musical.
I LOVE this movie. I even own it. I bought Grease 2, but I never bought Grease. That's how much I love watching it. It's awesome in the same way that Showgirls is. And Skidoo.
I love me some Grease 2, still own the LP, have a poster and the 2 set of lobby cards ( one still in the plastic ).
While i love Grease, i have never owned it or the CD.
Grease 2 sucks. And it isn't unintentionally sucky enough to be "Show Girls" or "Valley of the Dolls."
It just sucks.
I know it sucks, but I still like it. Sue me.
Consider yourself sued.

My brother and I recorded this movie off HBO and watched it every day during the summer of 83 or 84. Intellectually I know it's an awful movie, but it holds happy memories for me, so I love it just the same.
I understand completely! I have my "sucky movies I love" too.
This just isn't one of them.
Robert Stigwood. The master of tacky.
Grease 2 is an acquired taste.
I love, love, love it!
How long does it take to acquire it? I saw it opening day, first run in the theatre.
...and I still haven't gotten that "acquired taste" out of my mouth.

Any movie that has Michelle Pfeiffer straddling a ladder in hot pants can't be all bad....or can it?
Did Maxwell Caulfield take his shirt off in this? I can't remember. I just remember that the choreography was REAAL happy with the full-body spins!

I tried to watch this movie when I was 11 years old. I got to the point where they start singing about going bowling, and I turned it off. I've never looked back.

michelle pfeiffer wasn't wearing hot pants in that scene she was wearing tight black jeans.
Whatever. She looked like she wanted to rub her clit on the top rung.
When they started singing about reproduction i knew for sure that I was doomed, that i woudl never be truly be a whole man now.
Michelle's singing, dancing and ladder work is pure genius.
My best ballet friends (in Chicago) and I know every step of the COOL RIDER dance and we used dance it often to amuse ourselves on breaks. (We also loved doing the Parker Posey leap catch from Guffman. We did it constantly in the backround but not one attempt made it into the Altman film.)
And - Lorna Luft is heaven.
Eve Arden and Dody Goodman.
The Sagal Twins.
Pat Birch's directorial debut.
Dorky Hot Lief Green shaping my taste in men for YEARS.
And Didi Conn as the oldest high school student on record.
What's not to love?
No, robbie, that distinction would go to Jerri Blank.
I was actually going to put an * and give props to Jerry Blank...but that was too much work at the time.
Lief Green? Pictures, please.
