Jodie Foster's new film, The Brave One, looks to be quite the vigilante epic for the decade: Woman attacked, the system doesn't work, woman gets gun and hunts down and kills all the bad guys. Give me a f'ing break, Jodie. Sure, these films will get made, maybe even make someone a bunch of money, but JODIE, why do YOU have to make this crap? I would think this would be one of the last things you would want to make after all the Hinkley garbage you had to go through.
Couldn't you have let Sandra Bullock or Ashley Judd make this and you do something a bit more tasteful? How about I Now Pronounce You Judy and Mary?
And before you all jump on me and say "Have you SEEN it Sueleen?", the answer is no. But just look at the trailer.

I just thought she was above crap like this. Yes, she might need a little money now and then, but this one looks really irresponsible. Unless, of course, her character turns out to be a modern day Travis Bickle. Then there might be some poetic reasoning.
I saw a commercial for this this morning. Now, granted, I had a late show last night, followed by a few beers, so I was a titch bleary eyed.
But did I actually hear her say, in her best "Dr. Lecter?" urgent whisper, "Give me back my dog!"?
I just have one thing to say: Pharisaic.

I think they kill her dog and she says "I want my Dog Back" but it was hard to hear over my yelling "Oh PLEASE" at the screen repeatedly.

Is she gay?
Whi knows, maybe she can do for vigilante movies what she and Hopkins did for serial killer movies in Silence of the Lambs? The plot synopsis - young FBI agent, aided by cannibalistic psychiatrist, tracks down and knabs wannabe transsexual serial killer - doesn't sound like an Oscar winner either.
I just saw the preveiw for this and I thought the same thing!
WTF?
All this over a dog?
Great, now folks are going to run out and get more guns...
because there's no way that she could suffer for her actions throughout the movie and eventually die for them thus showing how her vengeance was not worth it after all. i mean since seeing the trailer is just like seeing the whole movie anyway, right?
Who asked you, papa? Do you really think Jodie is going to DIE at the end of this?
**spoiler***
i didn't think leo was gonna get it in the departed, but he did.
From the trailer, it's obvious she gets revenge...or her dog back.
fine. the hell with all of you. jodie and i don't need you anyway!
"Entertainment Weekly" puts Jodie in the "Oscar Watch" category in its Fall Movie Preview issue.
Message of this movie? NEVER COME BETWEEN A LESBIAN AND HER DOG!
I didn't think Leo was going to get it in...(SPOILER...)
Titanic, but I was wrong, too.

I don't think you can refer to her as a lesbian. I think it's defamatory.
I don't think it's all over a dog. I think they kill her husband/boyfriend, heh. I saw the trailer when I saw the latest Die Hard thing. It looked horrid.
Unless it features Jodie finding true love with a strap-on donning Portia De Rossi, I think I'll skip it.
Sorry, I think that strap-on donning Portia is going to be featured in the fall on Nip/Tuck. YAY!
Well, Jodie worked hard in her first wronged-woman movie in order to win an Oscar. This one is just for fun.
Matt, if you are referring to The Accused I wouldn't call that her FIRST "wronged women" movie. Kansas City Bomber, Taxi Driver, heck even Alice Doesn't Live Here, Anymore might all be considered "wronged women" movies.

Well, isn't "woman in peril" sort of her niche?
WTF?

Have you seen THE LIEUTENANT OF INISHMORE?
