Does anyone else find it weird that some of the married men on THIS board refer to their significant other as just "wife."


Wife loved the show
Wife doesn't want to see that
Wife and I love that restaurant
Wife says no
Wife has the say

etc etc etc

Why now just refer to her by her first name? Or say MY WIFE? I've noticed more than one member do that. It just seems kind of disrepectful.

I don't even like when people call their pets Dog or something so blatantly labeled as an object.

doesn't bother me at all.

In fact when visiting my parents, when my Dad acts up I call him 'Old Man" until he acts civil.

Last Thanksgiving he was being a real ass, and I looked at him and said "Old Man, remember, I am bigger than you are now."

And of course he started to behave.

At school, people call their mother's mom.

Not MY MOM

just MOM
