I guess Disney really wants to focus on Indiana Jones like they do Star Wars. Not sure how I feel about this. Wish they could just let the series ride off into the sunset but they did pay millions for the property I suppose.

I wouldn't mind seeing Bradley do this. He's got franchise experience already so why not?

If they must continue the franchise- I think Cooper is a great choice.

Does that mean Chris Colfer will be the new Marion Ravenwood?

Yeah, I don't think they should keep it going, but I think Bradley Cooper would be fantastic if they give him good material.

5 years ago this would've been Shia and I would've been incredibly upset.

I actually really like Bradley Cooper. He was one of the people who got the most good rep when he was up here working on The Place Beyond the Pines, largely because he worked closely with the police for his role and also people he was a charmer to everyone. He's really smart (I shouldn't note this because he went to Georgetown but he is extremely good at playing dumb) and people got the impression he wishes to work behind the camera at some point.

Anyway, he has a lot of projects like American Sniper (I'd keep an eye out for it dropping later this year out of nowhere because that is Eastwood's mode), so perhaps we really get to see him in action mode.

Yeah, the potential Shia situation was horrifying. I dunno, I could be ok with this, honestly. I've liked Bradley since Alias and he would be a good fit. Spielberg seems to have run out of ideas for the franchise, but it IS based on old pulp serials so recasting would, in some way anyway, be fitting.

Spielberg never came up with the ideas. George Lucas did. If it were up to Spielberg Indy 4 would have been a completely different film. Both he and Harrison Ford preferred Frank Darabont's script.

If they were going to give Indy a kid I still think it should have been a daughter. We saw the father/son dynamic done in Last Crusade (in a much better way too). I would have loved to see how Indy would have interacted with a headstrong daughter.

This is where I start to really hate Hollywood. They take an appealing and capable leading man like Bradley Cooper and stick him into idiotic garbage like Indiana Jones reboots, to say nothing of HANGOVER sequels.

He won't be stuck in Indiana Jones crap, at least, he managed to dodge that bullet. It's only a matter of time before they announce he'll be playing Wolverine's other brother.
