Most languages (Spanish, French, Italian, Portugese) are all derived from Latin.

I loved Spanish when I could speak it.

The Romance languages (i.e. Spanish, French, Italian) are derived from Latin, which explains their similarities. But you already knew that.

I tried to take AP Spanish 4 in high school. I failed the first semester miserably. It was awful.

English in any form wasn't allowed.

Needless to say we only spoke when we had to.

Yes, I knew that...
I just wanted to say that it made it much easier to study Spanish since I had already taken Latin.
And it's awful if you're only allowed to talk in the foreign language but very effective at the same time!

It only lasted six weeks because I transfered to a new school.
This new school didn't offer AP Spanish 4, so I was in luck.

And I'd love to break into song with you in public! The girls I was in London with the last time was a little ashamed when I started dancing on the sidewalk.
