Several states have/are attempting to do this.

The other measure approved by legislators Tuesday prohibits pregnant women and their families from seeking legal damages if physicians "knowingly and negligently" withhold key information or provide inaccurate information about their pregnancies.

At the time when most women are seeking abortions, ultrasounds aren't even effective. So what are the doctors doing to do then? "Pretend you can see something in the snow on the monitor while I bang on the table to mimic the heartbeat"?

heartbeats are visible at gestational age 6 weeks (fetal age 4 weeks) via transvag ultrasound.

I know if I was a twelve year old year old girl I'd want to be able to see my child/half-sibling.

Maybe they should have to name them, too. Just in case we can't demoralize the women enough.

I wish that rather than spending so much energy and money on outlawing abortion that those resources could be spent in decreasing the need for abortion.

There are always going to be extreme situations where, while I might not agree with the choice, I would be understanding as to why the procedure was needed.

Let's face it though, it's a debate that is never going to end. Though the ones that really confuse me are those who can be pro-choice but anti-capital punishment, and vice versa.
