Tim Howard is amazing.

My son is a soccer goalie and a hockey goalie. This year his hockey team made it to the championship, and it went into a 15 shooter shootout. I thought I was going to throw up.

If the World Cup has you newly interested in Soccer I highly recommend you check out MLS. The season is in full swing and the NY Red Bulls is a pretty good team, winning the supporters shield last season. And next season NY will have 2 MLS teams.
And it's affordable (for now). I could never afford to hold season tickets to any of the other major league sports but I've been a Red Bulls season ticket holder for two seasons now.
It's a good time to be a soccer fan in the US.

Perhaps the enthusiasm in the US this year will help FIFA decide to give us the 2022 event. For those who are unfamiliar, FIFA awarded the 2022 World Cup to Qatar, where the avg June high temp is 105. Bribery and collusion was involved in the process, because Qatar is not a viable candidate.

Yup. It's way too hot...and they're using slave labor to build stadiums.
