Worst movie lines...

Coincidentally enough, all of mine come from Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith:

"NOT IF ANYTHING TO SAY ABOUT IT, I HAVE!"

"From my point of view, it is the Jedi that are evil! (Nobody has EVER said "From my point of view..." during a fight)"

and, of course, the best thing George Lucas has ever penned...

"NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!"

re: Worst movie lines...

I agree with all three of those. You're right, no one ever uses "From my point of view..." in a battle.

Also...

"I'm just a girl standing in front of a boy... asking him to love her." - Julia Roberts, Notting Hill

"You jump, I jump." - Leonardo DiCaprio, Titanic

re: Worst movie lines...

lol.... "NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"

"Anakin, you're breaking me heart..."

"Hold me like you did by the lake in Naboo..."

That movie had so many horrible lines.

Most recent memory:

and this is paraphrased:

(After watching the rest of the zombies cross the bridge out of the city (and by rest of zombies i mean the few dozen they didn't already murder.):

"Don't shoot them...they're just looking for a place to go...like us..."

FROM LAND OF THE DEAD.

"Then he drives around with her in that van of his, drinking, taking pills. I'm sure he doesn't think about putting a seat belt on her." - Demi Moore, Striptease

"I need to go on pretending... until the end... with you." - Kate Winslet, Finding Neverland

"Come on, Kong, forget about me. This thing's just never going to work, can't you see?" - Jessica Lange, King Kong '76

"Slurp my butt." - Bruce Willis, Hudson Hawk

"I don't like sand. It's coarse and rough and irritating. It gets everywhere. Not like here. Here everything is soft and smooth." - Hayden Christensen, Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones

I know that almost nobody saw Wimbledon but-

Kirsten Dunst to boyfriend Paul Bettany:

"Love means nothing in tennis!"

re: Worst movie lines...

i'm pretty sure every line in revenge of the sith qualifies as the worst. I liked the movie, but the dialogue was just so bad.

Nothing, but nothing, will EVER beat:

So bad, it's brilliant.

re: Worst movie lines...

I love X-Men, but I groan everytime I hear:

"You know what happens to a toad when it's struck by lightning? The same thing that happens to everything else"

It's not so much the line that's bad; it's the delivery that makes it a groaner.

re: Worst movie lines...

From an old film noir movie whose title I cannot recall:

"They call me pencil Louie"
"Why?"
"Cause I got a big eraser right here....to rub people out with, see..."

God, I wish I could find that movie again...
"My dreams, watching me said, one to the other...this life has let us down."

What in the world is wrong with these three lines?! Sorry Broadway, but you seem to have odd taste in what makes a "bad" line. I don't think it can get any worse than "it's turkey time, gobble gobble." from Gili!

re: Worst movie lines...

I think they're extremely corny. No biggie.

And, I agree with you on the Gigli line. It didn't help that J. Lo is sooo awkward in that role.

re: Worst movie lines...

Ah, fair enough. I personally bawled during all three of those movies, especially during those lines, so obviously I don't mind "corny" lines at ALL!

re: Worst movie lines...

The worst line from one of my favorite movies: The Fugitive, when Harrison Ford is fighting the one-armed man on the El train and after thrashing him says dramatically 'you missed your stop.'

Ugh.

No problem, EisR. Lord knows there are those certain movies (and lines) that trigger my tear ducts...

re: Worst movie lines...

here's one......

"This is our time, this our time down here. It's their time up there, It's our time down here!"

Guess what movie and who said it??????

re: Worst movie lines...

By far, the WORST segment of dialogue ever is grom GIGLI - when Jennifer Lopez is doing yoga, trying to explain why being a lesbian is biologically "correct", and ending with "my pu$$y." IT IS SO TERRIBLE.

re: Worst movie lines...

Now I've seen some bad movies, but Gigli is one of those few that just left me stunned. I had no idea what hit me, nor could I explain what I had just seen.

re: Worst movie lines...

An alarmingly large percentage of you people have seen Gigli.

I'm scared.

re: Worst movie lines...

I had to see what all the buzz was about.

If I can recall, some of the absolute worst screenplays belong to these films:

Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation
How to Deal
A Cinderella Story
Gigli
Any Zombie movie EVER

I will continue to brainstorm...
