2-2, for the cards and beltran seems to hit a home run every other time he comes up. he's doing almost as good as matsui.

Shoot, I think that game robbed even Simmons of his wit. Maybe he'll write something better once the series is over. Meanwhile, congratulations to the Astros for tying their series with St. Louis. My vision of an ideal World Series grows ever-closer to reality.

Sigh...this is just sad. I'm going to preface this by saying that I understand that I'm reaching for excuses a bit here, but here it goes. While I fully acknowledge that the Yankees have out pitched, out hit, out...pretty much out-everything the Sox this series, I think the main thing that separates the Yankess from the Sox is the management. Why the hell did Lowe come out? He was doing suprisingly well, and now we've given up our lead in the 7th w/ only our closer left in the pen. Joe Torre is an infinately better manager...bottom line. Grady lost it for us last year, and while Francona didn't necessarily lose it for us this year, he certainly didn't help the situation!

wow my cards are letting me down! I still have faith though that they'll beat the astros. i cannot wait for the yankees/cardinals series! they are the 2 teams with the best record, and it'll be a h*ll of a game ... or 7!

Strange, I actually think that Red Sox management has been reasonably intelligent these past couple of seasons, while the Yanks' management has been going downhill as George takes an ever-greater hand in player acquisition decisions.

I don't know...I'd have thought that Francona would have gone w/ Reese and Mientkevich (I know I butchered it, but I'm too lazy to look it up) w/ Lowe, a sinkerball pitcher, in there. It's not like Bellhorn and Millar have been doing a whole lot at the plate lately! Pokey and Doug are both Gold Glove fielders, and although we'll never know, I'd tend to think that at least one of those plays last inning would have been turned if Pokey was in there instead of Bellhorn. And now Timlin's shot and we've got nobody left to pitch and it's only the 7th. I don't know...I have a feeling the next couple innings are going to be pretty long.
