Do you realize that those who post on this thread will be forced to contribute to my new clothing fund?

Good luck, Yenta. I've got thirty-five whole cents here ready to contribute to your clothing fund. That should get you a button, right?
It is such good news that you are going to be able to have this procedure. There is no need for you to explain or apologize. This surgery was made for people just like yourself. When the risks are less frightening than even trying you know you have made the right decision. Keep us posted.
Rock on, Yenta! This is going to be SUCH an amazing and positive experience for you. Can't wait to hear a little more about this journey once it begins...
I wish you well, Yenta. Many of my friends have had this procedure, and not a single one of them regrets having it done; only that they didn't have it done sooner. (both the gastric bypass and the banding).
You'll be amazed at how quickly you shed the pounds, and how exponentially better you will feel.
Bonne chance!!
Congratulations and best of luck to you. This will be such a positive experience for you, and we all wish you well. We'll be praying for you!
Yenta I am so happy for you. I know that this was the news you had been waiting for! (I told you he would give you good news!!) Best wishes and I will gladly contribute towards some new clothes for you Ms. Yenta!

I was only kidding about the clothes! Our weightloss surgery support group has a wonderful clothing exchange.

Yenta - my friend has arrived (she's taking a nap, which is why I sneaked on to catch up!) and I will ask her about the lap band. I know she's been to workshops on the surgery, and has connected with a few people over the issue (strength in numbers!) Where she'll be having the surgery actually has an entire wing dedicated to this issue, so she's in very good hands.
And I will GLADLY donate to your fund - a worthy celebration indeed
Yenta, when is your procedure going to take place? Sometime soon?

Sueleen, I am on Medicare because I am disabled. They aren't covering the lap band yet but are expected to do so in about 2-3 months. Since it is much less invasive and safer the will covering it in my state very soon.
