Posted: 10/20/04 at 3:43amLos Angeles (born in Santa Monica, reside in LA suburb Alhambra). I believe LA has a greater number of legit theaters (from a few dozen seats to several thousand) than any other US city. A great place to be a stage actor or see good theater. The only thing NYC has that we don't (IMHO) are the brand new big musicals (it'll be a while before Angelinos can see Wicked). You could see a show a day here and still only scratch the surface of what's available. Don't get me wrong: I love New York, but I don't feel at all deprived living in the Big Orange.
