I thought about being really tacky and adding "She Devil." C'mon. Streep's breakdown scene is priceless.
Roscoe, I know a lot of people found Mulholland Drive to be a pretentious, pointless bore, but it really grew on me after repeated viewings.

That's tough...
But here goes...
Breakfast at Tiffany's
It's A Wonderful Life
Out of Africa
The Sound of Music
Born Free
Love Actually (a more recent addition...)
E.T.
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid
The Wizard of Oz
...and I'll leave number 10 open at this point so that I keep my options open!

Oh, I had a great time in the theater with MULHOLLAND. I loved every minute and understood nothing.
Way to go with the Looney Tunes, Roscoe...almost makes up for your dislike of Royal and his brood.

CHICAGO? They made a movie of CHICAGO?

I really hated MULHOLLAND, the start of Lynch's apparently permanent decline, continued with the unspeakable INLAND EMPIRE.
Love me some Looney Tunes. Pure joy, especially when they're dark, like ONE FROGGY EVENING or FRESH AIRDALE.

Wasn't there two versions of The Philadelphia Story. I think I saw the one with Frank and Bing.

My faves are anything with Foghorn Leghorn, Daffy as Robin Hood, the Little Red Ridinghood "Put on your old gray bonnet with the bluebonnets on it," and anything with The Three Bears "Tell me again about my eyes" and of course, "Monsters are such IN-teresting people."

And, Calvin, I agree with your criteria: My list isn't a list of the greatest movies ever made. Just the ones that I will always turn to. And always love. And watch again and again and again. Favorites.

That whole Duck Season/Wabbit Season trilogy is one of the things that makes life worth living.

Love, Actually! I forgot that one.
Mullholland Drive is good for Naomi Watts' performance.
She is truly brilliant in that.
Also, I very fond of Repulsion
Smiles Of A Summer Night
Tootsie

Exactly, Addy, which makes me feel better that my list isn't exactly AFI-approved.
We all have those movies that really aren't "great" in a cinematic history sense but just make us happy. Mine are Clue and The Naked Gun. For my mom, it's Overboard.

I would add High Society to my list, as well.
It's so hard to limit it to 10!

DG, I was supposed to have had a very small part in "Powder," but my school administrators gave me grief about it, so I had to drop out.

Your mention of 'Clue' reminds me of 'Murder By Death', which is always hilarious...

Of course Romero's Night Of The Living Dead.
That's probably my favorite horror movie ever.

Calvin - OVERBOARD would probably be number 11 on my list
I couldn't care less what anyone or anything thinks of my list. The original idea was your 10 favorite, and those are my ten. No one else would know what MY favorites were!

Precisely, DG!
But, it sounds like we'd all have a good time at Movie Night, as we all like so many of the same ones!
