He said he would fire anyone who engages in that kind of politics.
You know, like George Bush promised to fire anyone engaged in the outing of Valerie Plame.
But he won't fire her, because politicians don't keep promises, and he's just another politician, like all the rest.
And if he's elected president, he'll continue to break promises, like all other politicians.

I'm confident he'll fire her. Already his spokesman said, "Senator Obama decries such characterizations which have no place in this campaign."
But in December, he said, "I do not want to see research that is involved in trying to tear people down personally. If I find out that somebody is doing that, they will be fired. And I have been absolutely crystal clear about this, and I have been clear about this for a very long time."
So I'm absolutely crystal clear that he'll fire her.

the hillary supporters are pathetic... attacking obama for something someone else said... he cant control everything his people are going to say... the lady screwed up royally, obama has decried what she said...
is this any worse than hillary's mouthpiece calling obama "keneth starr"? i mean really...
and to tazber... as far as i'm concerned he has continued to stay above the fray by not engaging in "throwing the kitchen sink"... he's continued to take the high road... unlike hillary.
she barely won texas by running those lame "red telephone" ads right before election day, engaging in nasty "fear politics" (a trademark of the republicans). hillary's been a classic washington politician since day 1...
i actually hope he starts to get nasty... i was watching him on TV yesterday where he continued to be respectful and i kept thinking to myself, you know its awesome that he's taking the high road, but thats it. clinton is going to get much nastier than shes already been... she's capable of anything as far as i'm concerned... so maybe its time he starts to fight back... i hope he does. he certainly has plenty to attack her with... all those failures during her "co-presidency" in the 90's...

people, new rule: a politician cannot be held responsible for something said by a member of that person's campaign.

Obama needs to fire her if he wants to prove he's not just talk.
Even if he doesn't fire her - he still won't be as bad as the senile, crazy, old, republican nominee who back peddled his views on torture in order to kiss up to the conservatives.

To me, this is just evidence of the inexperience of some of Obama's supporters - as well as further evidence of their utter detest of someone they probably have never met in real life.
Some of us who see positives in both Hillary and Obama are turned off by the comments and statements of his supporters. They paint a picture in absolutes, never recognizing anything that Hillary has done in her political life and private life, while overplaying Obama's experience.
I doubt this was sanctioned by Obama, but it is a bit ironic that many of his supporters claim to be drawn to him because he is not a normal politician, yet they seem to be ready, willing, and quite happily able to spew venom and bile against Hillary.

this coming from a supporter of senator clinton who says, and i quote, "his entire campaign is based on a speech he made in 2002".
certainly she knows a little bit about overplaying her own "experience" and not recognizing anything her opponent has done in his political career.
to clinton, all obama has to offer was a speech. one speech. in 2002. forget that he's had more success as a US senator in less time than shes been a senator. all he has to offer us is one speech.
samantha powers has resigned. obama's keeping it clean. or trying to, which is difficult when a clintons involved.
again... for his sake, if he wants to continue to take the high road because he doesnt want to engage in nasty fear politics, then more power to him... but i say its time for the gloves to come off and he should just go in and fight.
we all know senator clinton cant surpass his delegate count, she doesnt have the popular vote... if shes going to play dirty to get what she wants, then he should too...
and i'm sure all the clintonites will be here to criticize him while turning a blind eye on their gals own actions. :)
