Boy George rocks my socks.
Because he is BRILLIANT.
I know you're not arguing! You know that George wrote the score for Taboo, right? I love that score. I really do think it's one of the best musical scores Broadway's seen in a long time, even if the show had a ton of problems. He's a brilliant songwriter, a poet with every word that he writes, and he's had a pretty decent impact on pop culture.
times a billion to Boy George.
As Emcee stated before, he is BRILLIANT. The guy writes kick ass songs. TABOO is my favorite recording-- I listened to only it for like, 5 months straight. The songs are amazing. The man is a genius!
Good God!
Emcee, I don't think I'd even try with this one.

AMAZINGLY HOT!! He rocks!
Good one, Beav! I saw where you recently got the cast recording. I. LOVE. IT.
George was a sweetheart at the Taboo CD signing back in May. He was the only one that hadn't signed my Playbill. Rosie even signed it closing night. I brought it with me to the signing, just in case. I figured what could it hurt to ask him. If he said no, he says no. When I got up in front of him, I said, "Mr. O'Dowd, you're the only one I didn't get to sign my playbill. Would you mind?" He looked up a me for a moment, thinking, then he smiled, said sure, and signed it for me. I thanked him for signing it and he said, "you're very welcome". I think he's wonderful.

You know, I don't actually *own* one of George's CD's. I just have both recordings of Taboo and some various stuff that was on one of the million and a half TABOO sites, that's actually off of George's CD's. Which would you recommend, Beav?
Excellent. When my bank account is done hating me, I will pick up a copy.
I was a little nervous after all the stories I'd read on all the boards about him, but I figured he wasn't going to throw a hissy fit at a CD signing of HIS show plus I figured the "Mr." showed some respect for him and might either impress him or throw him off guard. I can kiss up with the best of them when I think about it. All he could do was say no, right? O.K. I'll admit it, I was alot nervous when I actually got up there! But it worked!

Boy George is by far HOT. He's a genius songwriter and fashion designer. His autobiography Take It Like a Man is also brilliantly written. His lyrics are the best part of his songs. He always knows the exact right words to describe a situation. "Parody fits you like a glove..."
I just ordered a used copy of that through Barnes and Noble. I think I may start camping out at my mailbox if it doesn't come soon.
eep. What a great story.
My story is rather sad. I *think* I managed to say hello to him at the CD signing, and possibly utter something about loving the show after a good couple of seconds of the typical Emcee "uh um um uhhhhh...."
George... beautiful and brilliant. Love him more than I can say!
I bought the book from half.com last year. I didn't even realize it existed until I saw it listed in his bio in the Playbill. I had to have it. It was interesting to read after having seen both Taboos. Whenever a character I knew from the show appeared in the book, I was picturing them as I saw them on stage. It made for an even more interesting read!
I've seen/heard Euan do numerous interviews where he's always stressed that if they had taken George's book and made THAT into Taboo, he thinks it would've done much better. Who knows? Maybe it would have.
