Was not happy with Cingular's customer service after terminating a several year old contract. How many times must I tell you I have a new carrier and am not interested in anything but you terminating my contract? Don't continue to call or mail me.

Very happy with T-Mobile.

Sherman, I've had three services in the city. Of them, I like T-Mobile the best but if you want to change, go with Verizon. Sprint is horrible and drops signals and rarely works well inside buildings. All of my friends with Verizon and T-Mobile seem happy. Cingular is also a bust.

Thank you. So it sounds like Cingular is a bust except for that whole iPhone thing. I will want an iphone, but I have already decided to wait for that first bunch of iPhones to come out and then get mine the next year. As with the iPod, everyone will buy one and then nine months later they will come out with a better, cheaper one. I can wait.

And Verizon has less choices of phones. I did not know that. Maybe T-Mobile is not so bad.

Sherman, you definitely want to wait for a 2nd generation version of a phone that involved to come out! If you remember the Generation 1 Ipod, you might recall it had horrible problems. I'm guessing the Iphone's going to sell quickly but will have loads of problems.
T-Mobile really isn't bad. This is coming from someone who had Voicestream back in the day, hated it, and went back to T-Mobile and loves it.

Ive had pretty much every major cell company.... I finally landed with AT&T a few years ago and have LOVED their service. Since the Cingular/AT&T merger, I haven't had any service problems whatsoever.... I even get service on the subway platform.

I will say that I never had a reception problem with Verizon, no matter where I was. Nor did I ever have sound volume issues. Both of those are a rare problem with me for Cingular

had everything. I hated nextel and t-mobile along with cingular. Verizon is the best.

Sprint is horrible. It goes in and out of service every few seconds.

I have Verizon and I think it's great. I get service everywhere I go, either here or when I'm in the city. However, my mom complains all the time about dropped calls. We just bought new phones though - maybe it was because her phone was about three years old.
