i'm leaving and taking my righteous indignation with me!
I can't say I will miss her either.

She's right about one thing. More people care about American Idol than about all the young men and women that have died over there regardless of your politics.
one more reason people would say i'm out of touch with america: never watched american idol.
Yeah, she needed the attention so badly that she could not wait for her son to be killed so that she could protest against the war. The nerve of some people.
I appreciated her passion, but I think she just made herself look stupid. That's just my opinion.
I think she was a sad, vulnerable woman who allowed herself to be exploited. I hope she can move on with what's left of her life.
nerve, pab? the nerve to use her own words? it's her title, not mine.
"The nerve of some people" was referring to Sheehan not you. If you could not understand it, it was meant to be sarcastic and if anyone on this board would understand that I though it would be you.
sorry, been up too long and am waaaaaaayyyyyy too literal minded today, obviously.
I met her once in fact I have a picture of her and my candidate who ironically wanted to show off an affiliation with her,a certifiable nutjob but would not make appearances at Somos Amercia left wing but not entirely crazy.
In a border state where the only issue that make or breaks you is immigration. Is it any wonder he lost?

The Democrats just lost another voter.
I think it's disturbing there are not more Cindys. George Bush is a liar. His lies killed people.
Cindy's words haven't done anything other than make those liars become defensive. The Democrats were afraid of her because she is a woman and the Republicans made her the weak voice of the anti-war movement.
She tried, but really at the end of the day the Democrats have failed us and democracy is in hibernation.

That is a sad, sad message she left. And I beg to differ - I think there's a great deal of truth in MUCH of it, not just one thing.
"the issue of peace and people dying for no reason is not a matter of "right or left", but "right and wrong."
I don't think a mother trying to make her son's death mean something is foolish.
My parents lost a child and I know that's a lifetime pain that never ends--you can think whatever you'd like about Cindy, but what she did was borne out of love and concern, which is more than I can say for her critics.
DG and lildogs -- She does draw some really good conclusions in the piece and I give her props for calling the Dems out, I did too.
That being said having been one-on-one with her I was left feeling that I was talking to a hack -- not a mother. I don't have enough information to suspect her original intentions of anything less than stated..
...however after a year I can say without a doubt that she is as jaded and calculating as any pol I've ever met.
she grabbed yer butt, didn't she, rad?
If Cindy Sheehan can be described with a word like "whore," what kind of word would you use to describe Ann Coulter, who is certainly much more of a "media whore" than Cindy Sheehan.
The word to describe Coulter can not be posted here.
i'm merely quoting cindy herself. she titled her farewell piece. i've never used that phrase to describe her.
I'm with lildogs on this one.
I'm with iflit and lildogs.
It's amazing what she put up with. She was one of the few speaking out about this oil war. Why couldn't Bush answer her simple question?
