i was told i need ot clear the cache on my computer... what is a cache and how do i clear it?
It's where your cookies (ie temporary internet files are stored). So if you left click on your internet browser and access the properties, under the general tab there is a heading that says "Temporary Internet Files"...so you can delete your cookies and the files from there. That's on Internet explorer. It's similar on firefox, but I believe that Mozilla has a button that says "clear cache" or something like that...
thank you :)
BTW, your Cookies & your Cache are two different things.
i just cleared the cache, i left the cookies alone
Yea...like you if clear your cookies and have any stored passwords, like for instance on BWW, you would have to sign in again.
I never knew the actual difference...

This hasn't happened for me, Marlene. I delete my cookies at the end of every computer session, and I have my BWW password stored. I've never lost it or had to reinitialize it. I'm not sure why it's happening to you, though.
Grizzabella-my Mac is only one week old, and it won't hold cookies for BWW. I have to constantly sign in, with no rhyme or reason. My friend who's an expert came over and couldn't figure out how to set the cookies either. Can you help out?
Hey fatty fat, that's how BWW works.
We ALL have to sign in every time.
Go eat some more mashed potatoes with bacon.
i dont have to sign in every time
i would sugest downloading gator or another program that stores passwords

No, I'm always signed in, even if I turn the computer off and on again. I'm pretty sure that's a cookie, and not the Firefox password remembering function.
it is a cookie, becase one time i cleared the cookies by mystake and was signed out of bww
but other than that i'm always signed in
shut up BISON. there's actually a screen u nder preferences that allows you to select "always accept cookies" and I have that clicked!
BWW signs me out when I'm ON it sometimes.
Hippo.
That's what I'm saying-I could be refreshing a page, and then I'm not signed in anymore.
I'm usually signed in, except when I clear my cookies...I just click the little box next to the username password promt that keeps you signed it. I'm pretty sure it's a cookie...
That doesn't work for me either.

First, you check your preferences and see if you are accepting cookies. There should be no reason why you would have sign in each time.
Pab, I do have the box checked that says "always accept cookies". It's under preferences, then security.
Yeah, she's not an idiot.
Just a heifer.
Jane, you should not have accept all cookies on your security setting.
You should have the ability to accept or reject the cookies.
It is safer.
Note, for IE:
I prompt first party cookies
Block third parties cookis
override automatic cookie handling
and allow session cookies.

the other boxes don't give me that option, the other options are either "never" or "only sites I navigate to"
Try selecting - "Only from sites you navigate to".
If that does not work you may have to reset your browser.
Must be different settings if you have a MAC.
What do you use for Internet browsing?
I'm a heifer, rath? You, being a BISON are much larger
