You know, what's worse than the cookie thing is that my Safari cuts out every half hour or so. In the one week I have it, it's cut out about 20 times.

Okay Jane2, you have a distinct problem and you should Reset Safari. What's happening with you is not normal.

Do you have any browser installed other than Safari? If it came with your computer, you should have gotten a backup CD. Uninstall Safari and reinstall it.

ETA- You can download another browser like Opera as a backup. I've heard Firefox has Mac issues, so maybe you shouldn't go with that.

I just noticed I have the option to reset Safari, although a warning screen pops up letting me know just how much info will be deleted (cookies, etc). I'm assuming I still do want to reset it, right, pab?

That's my only installed browser. I don't think I have a cd, I'll look again.

Hrm. Maybe I was just making assumptions. The last couple of computers I've bought have been Dells, and they come with backup CDs for the OS and all the preinstalled software.

This reset thing sounds like it should work, though.

thanks Plum. It's weird, I thought to reset safari, it would take a while, but I clicked and it was instant. We'll see!
