re: cops acquitted in sean bell case

Police are taught a lot of things, and that doesn't mean their prejudices don't enter it it and that they don't forget what they've learned. And there are some cops who just don't give a ****.

And cops are taught to use all kinds of force, even with guns they are taught to use non-lethal force, to impair rather than to kill. Cops are not Soldiers...yet.

"that doesn't mean their prejudices don't enter it it and that they don't forget what they've learned."

That works across the board - even this one.

Thanks, Etoile - you've been missed.

"...even with guns they are taught to use non-lethal force..."

Wrong. This was not a non-lethal force situation. When met with what they perceive to be a force that could cause death or serious bodily injury to themselves or another person then police have a responsibility, an authority, and an OBLIGATION to use nothing less than equal or greater force. Deadly force. The judge agreed.

I don't need a multi layered sock puppet to try and wrongfully explain the concept of force continuum to me.

And you are also incorrect when you state that police are not soldiers. They most certainly are. They are domestically the first line of defense in upholding and defending the laws and the Constitution serving their jurisdictions.

re: cops acquitted in sean bell case

That's not a police officer. When there is no distinction between a Military force and a civilian police force then we live in a Police State.

you obviously have very little idea about what you are discussing.

re: cops acquitted in sean bell case

But a large number of police officers are retired military - so in fact, some are soldiers, just not active duty.

re: cops acquitted in sean bell case

Retired is retired, its a different training and just because you were a soldier doesn't give you carte blanche to go around acting like a soldier. Too many cops do that.

the fenfen mpd collective's an expert on all issues and knows more about any of them than any of you peons. in fact, in a former life one of it's personalities was a cop who didn't even carry a gun. it didn't need it because it could simply use it's mind control powers to convince people that there was no crime save for that committed by the united states and israel against the world.

Well, puppetman, I think it's so cute that you obviously think that there is something incorrect in what I posted.

"When there is no distinction between a Military force and a civilian police force then we live in a Police State."

But there is a distinction between military forces and police forces. It doesn't mean both can't be soldiers. Police defend and uphold the laws and Constitution of their local jurisdiction. Domestically they are your first line of defense. Why is that so difficult for you to understand? Must not fit your agenda, so you dismiss it.

Police departments by their very nature and structure are paramilitary organizations. That doesn't equate to a "police state" which, as with so many other platitudes you toss around, seem to only exist in your mind.

"you obviously have very little idea about what you are discussing."

Really? I think you obviously have little idea how with each post in this thread, as in other threads, you make yourself seem more the fool.

Rest in peace, Iflitifloat.

Utterly disgusted. But I'm not surprised at all of the cops are acquitted. I can only recall the cops in recent memory nationally who deservedly spent time in prison was in the Abner Loumina case.
