So true. I permed my super straight hair once while in HS. I never had straight hair again. My hair is still naturally curly 8 years later. Always be careful for what you wish for!

that is really, really scary! Best perm comment ever - my mom, whose hair is straighter than mine, permed her hair when I was in third grade. My best friend at the time came over to my house after school and asked her, "Maureen, what did you do to your hair?" and my mom said, "I got a perm" - and my friend looks at her and goes, "why?"

re: comment above - I have been sleeping with wet hair since I was like, five, and I have never been sick from it. I mean just don't sleep with your window wide open - although I have done that too
