"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

re: favorite animated movie of all time

I'm completely Disney's b*tch when it comes to animated classics, so this was hard but number one favorite:

The Lion King

I cry so many times during this movie that I used to refuse to let the kids I babysat watch it, because I didn't want to cry in front of them.

I have three that I like equally that stand above all others but I can't pick a favorite.

The Iron Giant
Mononoke Hime
The Lion King

The Little Mermaid!
My dad and I saw it in the theater several times. I, also, have a dog named Ariel. And I had another dog named, Melody. (Ariel's daughter in the sequel)

Cinderella
Lady and the Tramp
Beauty and the Beast
A Goofy Movie
The Fox and the Hound
The Rescuers Down Under
Alice in Wonderland
Pinnochio

And while those are my favorites that I can watch over and over, the BEST written animated movie of all time for me is definitely, absolutely FINDING NEMO.

The Lion King. There's just no equalling that for me; I seriously think it's a brilliant piece of filmmaking, not just a brilliant piece of animation.

The runner-up would probably be Laputa, which is my favorite Miyazaki film. I also love Beauty and the Beast.

Beauty and the Beast, hands down.
"The stage is where I live and come alive and act out all the things that go on in my life. It's not just what I do for a living, it's my shrink and my love affair. No one in my life has ever or ever will kiss me on the mouth like this lover called my relationship with my performance."

Aw, this thread is bringing back childhood memories! I've been reminded of so many good animated movies that I haven't seen in forever. I think my favorite is Anastasia.

re: favorite animated movie of all time

Beauty and the Beast- The number one animated film of all time (In my opinion, of course re: favorite animated movie of all time )

Honorable mention to:
Aladdin
The Incredibles
The Little Mermaid
