Please don't go to Planet Hollywood. I am not a picky eater, but the caesar salad I had there was horrible...and the service sooo slow. OK atmosphere, but. I enjoyed the Times Square Grill, which doesn't look great from outside, but had excellent parmesan fries, and our waitress was great. Plus it wasn't too busy when we went. It's right across from Colony Records (another bonus)

When I brought my teen age niece to NY in Dec./Jan. she wanted to go to Bubba Gumps (44th and Broadway). It was pretty good and we had a lot of fun. In fact during her stay, we went three times. However, her favorite was also Angus McIndoe.

Luxia

CaTheatreGirl,

FYI...Luxia isn't on restaurant row...it's on 48th between 8th and 9th...I always recommend it.

Playwright Tavern and Restaurant on 49th between Broadway and 7th is my personal favorite. Very cozy atmosphere and an awesome Shephard's Pie.

Number two is the deli located next-door to Carnegie Hall. I can't remember the name of it now, but they have the best Matzo ball soup. It's not Carnegie's Deli, but across the street from Carnegie's. Dang it! What is the name of that place???

Bongoboy, you're right! I wasn't thinking. I'm so used to going down Restaurant Row to Joe Allen or Don't Tell Mama. Oops! Sorry to send someone searching for something that isn't there!! I stand corrected.

No big deal...I'm a big fan of Joe Allen as well, though I haven't been there in awhile.

Good Italian restaurant is Osteria Al Doge across from the Millenium Hotel. Did not care for the hotel however
