Posted: 10/16/08 at 7:15pmA friend of mine is getting a tattoo on her foot because her boyfriend has a foot fetish. I told her it might not be a good idea since she works in the corporate world and dresses in a skirt and heels everyday. She said I was old school. I told her let your boyfriend rub your feet more often and he'll forget about the tattoo.

I once talked to a tattoo artist about tattooing the bottoms of feet...can't be done. We wear so away so much skin from the bottoms of our feet that a tattoo wouldn't last.

I was actually thinking of getting a little on on the top of my foot, until I heard how much it hurts there.
And yeah. To do something like that for your boyfriend? Not so smart.

Posted: 10/17/08 at 12:33pmStockardFan that's exactly where I have mine and it goes down to the side of my foot just a bit. I guess I was lucky b/c it didn't hurt at all. Getting my teeth deep cleaned hurt much much more and I had local anesthetic to boot!

I just had one done around my ankle. It hurt. Not badly. There was only one time when I though, "Damn, I wish he'd move away from that spot." However... the next 2 or 3 days were bad. Felt like someone had carved my ankle up with an exacto knife. Then, there's the scabbing and peeling. My tattoo is beautiful and I am glad that I got it, but there won't be another. It's the stuff no one seems to talk about and they don't tell you until they have finished.
As to the original post. Many of you are right. It is the fact that she is doing it for him that is troublesome. Let's just hope that she doesn't tattoo his name there. And since wearing any type of shoe is gonna be real uncomfortable... doing it when she has a week off and the weather is warm is probably the smarter idea. Of course, by then, she will have dumoed him or thought better of this idea :).

Posted: 10/21/08 at 12:22amI worked in a law office over the summer and one of our lawyers had a tattoo on her foot which was visible whenever she wore skirt suits. I never heard anyone say anything about it, but then again it was a small office and everyone had been working there for quite awhile before I showed up so I'm sure if there was controversy it pre-dated my working there. I pretty much agree with everyone who said she shouldn't do it just for the boyfriend, though. That has "I'll regret this 6 months to a year from now" written all over it.
