"Friendship" - Anything Goes
Yes, I'm terribly original.

Old Friend
Here's an obscure one. "Friend," from Snoopy. I think it appears only on the San Francisco cast recording and not on the London one, and it can be tough to find (except on Amazon).
Also, "Bosom Buddies" from Mame.
La Vie Boheme. Its a stretch, but it is about the appreciation of their shared way of life. "To being an us for once instead of a them, La vie boheme"
My Friend - Sweeney Todd
B.Barker and his razor
"You'll soon drip precious rubies"
He's My Friend - UNSINKABLE MOLLY BROWN (Soundtrack)
Dear Friend - SHE LOVES ME
Well, perhaps an obvious choice, but it is a great friendship song nonetheless-"For Good" from Wicked.
Also "You'll Never Walk Alone" from Carousel comes to mind--not exactly about friendship but essentially saying go on through rough times and there'll always be people there to support you.
"No One Is Alone" from Into the Woods along those lines.

Michael W. Smith has a great song called "Pray for Me"...for me, that is the perfect friendship song for those who are not in the same part of the world together.
the song at the end of THE LIFE and OLD FRIENDS by paul simon. JUST YOU AND I by melissa manchester is a great song. YOU'VE GOT A FRIEND is such an old chestnut -- try a unique version like sweet honey in the rock or another acapella group. that would be great. WHENEVER I CALL YOU FRIEND by kenny loggins and m. manchester sung by kenny and stevie nicks. FRIENDS sung rapturously by bette midler (well, ya gotta have friends...the feelings oh-so-strong..)
