Maybe because we don't elect people with a gallup poll. We do it with delegate votes.
actually this year you'll be doing it with superdelegates.
Yeah...2,024 delegates.
so to win it without the supes, bammy just needs to win...oh, wait that's right, he can't. not even if he was to win every single remaining pledged delegate.
Clearly, the word 'pledged' has no meaning to the Clintons:

Well, it's nice to know that if you have buyer's remorse, there's a return policy.
But it's interesting why Obama supporters should be so nervous about this---wouldn't that mean that pledged delegates for Hillary could decide to vote for Obama?
Same was true of the revotes. But the Obama camp was afraid of them.
Maybe finding out the true will of the people is a lil scaaaarrry.
Clearly the word "pledged" has this meaning, according to the Democratic Party:
===
If no candidate receives a clear majority of delegates, the party may head into the convention without a nominee. This is known as a brokered convention. The nominee is then determined by a series of floor votes at the convention, which may be preceded by negotiations among the party leaders and candidates. Pledged delegates and superdelegates may switch their support, and negotiations continue until one candidate receives a majority of votes. The last brokered Democratic convention was in 1952....

jesus f*cking christ!
i've always gotten a kick out of this phrase. is it an out of body experience, or just masturbation?
I've given up defending either one of them anymore. It's really 6 of 1, half dozen of the other.
As I always say, neither one has any room to talk. Last week it was bammy on the hot seat. This week it's hil with her Bosnia slip.
Next week, who knows.
taz, i can assure you that you won't have to feel dirty for supporting big daddy mambo.
you know you've been my candidate since the beginning papa.
I deleted my intemperate response.
pj, save for the last word, i loved it. i'll miss it even so.
