iTunes Problem/Question

Is it just me, or does music sound kind of (for lack of a better word) muffled when downloaded from iTunes? I just watched the music video for Mark Ronson's new song "Bang Bang" and it sounded very clear. I just downloaded it from iTunes and it sounds like it was recorded in a foam covered room. Am I the only one that has the problem?

I honestly haven't had this problem, dj. But it seems entirely possible based on how the music is compressed.

I buy 95% of my music as a hard copy and import it though so that may be why I haven't experienced this.

Did you try adjusting the equalizer setting? That could also account for the disparity.

Oh it's super easy.
You know The bar below cover flow that details the name of the song, album, artist, genre, etc....
Right click on that and a dropdown list of columns you can choose customize your bar appears. One of the options is equalizer. Just click on it and it will appear on the bar.

Once you have added it, click on it. There are 20 or more settings for various types of music.
Rock, pop, vocal, dance, etc.

I have my shows set to pop (less bass heavy), but you can try them all out and see which ones you prefer.

I believe it's also accessible through options at the top. But I'm importing a cd right now so I can't check.

If you don't see it, post here again and I'll walk you though it.

ETA: I just checked. It's also in the dropdown menu under "view" on the commands at the top of the screen.

iTunes Problem/Question

I have never had that problem, but I have noticed that when I download songs that are older (like from the 80's) they are quieter than songs that are more current. So when I have the i pod on shuffle, I'm constantly having to adjust the volume from one song to the next.

It's so weird. I guess because the original recordings are older?

I would assume that and they didn't have the technology we have now. It drives me crazy when I am listening to a playlist and I have to keep getting up and adjusting my computer speakers.

iTunes Problem/Question

I know! When I do a playlist for spinning and some songs are louder than others I have to pick up the damn ipod and turn it up or down. In the car or whatever I don't really mind, but when I'm in a zone I don't want to have to deal with it.

In the Info section for each track, under the Options tab, you can change the base volume so that those softer tracks will be louder without you having to adjust the volume on your speakers/iPod.

In the "Preferences" menu, go to the "Playback" tab and check off "Sound Check". It'll automatically make all your tracks play at the same volume.

iTunes Problem/Question

Bumping this up so I don't make another similar thread.

I downloaded a couple of episodes of television programming from iTunes because I have no desire to own the entire seasons, just for these two episodes. However, when I purchased the standard versions, it also is downloading the HD versions, which I do not want. How do I get those to stop downloading and get them off my computer? I've been deleting them from my download menu, but they keep coming back when I open the program again. Sorry if this seems like a very simple task.
