My parents wanted to name me Tamar, but found that there were about 21 Tamars in our neighborhood alone. So they changed their minds. :)

My dad wanted Stephanie and my mom wanted Melissa, and they couldn't agree, so they picked a different name.

My parents told everyone I was going to be named Pierpont...just for the reactions. And when people looked at them funny, they told them (even though its a lie) that it was a family name and pretended to be offended if people laughed.

My parents wanted Shoshanna HA! My god father picked my name and my jewish name is Shoshanna... what a wonderful story.. I touched myself.

Well I was thisclose to being named Natalie, but my dad wanted to name me Matthew Christoper, because he was convinced I was going to be a boy. It's really sad when you dad runs after the doctor yelling 'But I wanted a boy'. True story.

I don't know about my dad, but my mom's second choice was *gulp* Clara. No offense if that's your (or a friends) name, but I can't see myself as a Clara. Or really anything but Quinn.
What is it about Lucy?? I know she's a bitch, and yet I want to be her...

I think Tal means dew in Hebrew. My parents named me Marianne. It certainly doesn't sound like a Jewish name. But my name in Hebrew is Miriam, which is a beautiful name. If I had a daughter I would have named her Sarah or Esther.

my mother wanted to call me Tina, but my grandmother refused to go along with that because it means "washing machine" in Spanish. Then she wanted to name me Marlena...my mother does NOT have good tastes in names =P
