Sorry--I posted this in the Troll's thread by mistake:

Look for the the Republican machine to attack Huckabee so hard he will bleed from the palms and feet.
And Dick Cheney will spear him in the side, and Karl Rove will crown him with thorns.
But they will gore him so bloodily, he shall not rise on the third day.

if romney keeps running in 2nd it won't matter, pj. i'm not sure if it will anyway. anything they throw at him now can be laid at the door of "big politics" and his opponents. he's gonna have some big mo coming out of this no matter what they throw at him. they shoulda never let him get this far.
i'm more interested really in what the carpet bagger camp is going to hurl at al qaeda's candidate. i have a feeling it's going to make the gop look like sunday school.

I just read that 57 percent of Obama's support is 17-29.
I believe that's unprecedented.

re: iowa caucus thread#19
Posted: 1/3/08 at 9:51pmyeah, but can he hope to sustain that? they made a real effort in iowa to get out the youth, targeting the universities, etc. plus where's that number coming from? exit polls? entrance polls?

"I just read that 57 percent of Obama's support is 17-29."
That's also the demographic that doesn't turn out to the polls. Even Michael Moore couldn't bribe them with free underwear.

I still say in the end it's gonna be Clinton and Romney.
But this certainly does spice things up.

if those numbers hold up, pj, they are remarkable indeed as they'd mean that the youth turned out more than it's proportion of the population.
let's see how it goes in nh.
i know a lot of emphasis was placed on the universities in ioway because i might be wrong here but it seems like anyone who said they'd ever thought about watching an iowa football game was allowed to caucus.

This is what I'm getting. I think it constitutes a revolution.
Not to mention a black man winning ANYTHING this significant in a state as white as Iowa.

Preliminary numbers show that 60% were first time caucus goers. 39% of new voters went for Obama. Young people’s turnout was 25%, which means they out performed their share of the population which is 22%. Young voters were 57% of Obama’s support, according to entrance polls.
