re: is jerseygirl2's icon offensive to anyone?

While conspiracy theories are entertaining, my guess would be that there are several individuals doing the moderating, as that is what the inconsistencies would indicate to me. I doubt that there is some concise agenda. More likely, it's just that not each moderator interprets the guidelines the same way.

I'm assuming that the Rosario picture was published somewhere, and no I'm not offended by it.

Can someone please explain your avatar to me, CK? I think my eyesight is going the way of my hearing...

In certain collegiate circles, it's the only way to pose for a picture. It's called "The Shocker". I'm looking for a suitable change now, it was just a point I was trying to make.

"the offending (?) avatar has been deleted so what does that say?"

That my opinion means nothing and that JG2 is avatarless. re: is jerseygirl2's icon offensive to anyone?

Someone said my avatar needed a hand check?

Lord help us! It's been up for two weeks. My first post with it was asking if it was too offensive and I planned on removing it right after, yet no one said a word. I love that I caused a whole thread's worth of controversy.

If you found the avatar offensive, instead of blowing it into this huge deal, why didn't you just private message jerseygirl and tell her that you found her avatar inappropriate? I mean, you don't need to share your whole opinion with the board, and it would have been much more polite to do so in general...but that's just my opinion.

I agree with DRS......especially for someone that new to try and publically embarrass someone as nice as jersey, or really anyone is inappropriate. This could have been done privately.

re: is jerseygirl2's icon offensive to anyone?

i think it was a valid question from someone - no matter how long they've been a member. and i don't think it was meant to embarrass. i thought it was more questioning the moderators than the avatar.

re: is jerseygirl2's icon offensive to anyone?

drs, what would you say if i pm'ed you and told you your current avatar was offensive?

Well, if you were being facetious I'd tell you that your avatar is gorgeous.

If you were being serious in this question, well, jerseygirl said that she'd even posted a thread about it and whether or not it was offensive. Not to mention I'd rather have that be told to me privately than be told to the entire board that someone has a problem with it.

robbo......to me it's no different than announcing to your whole department that a coworker smells, rather than telling the coworker yourself

i think it is very different, elfie.

drs, my point is that what is or is not offensive is subjective. if the pm came from another member, who knows what jerseygirl's reaction would have been. if she is embarrassed over this thread, all she has to do is say the word to a moderator and it will be gone in a flash.

Thank you, Elphaba. It's really no big deal. I don't embarrass that easily. I am surprised it stayed as long as it did. re: is jerseygirl2's icon offensive to anyone? And I didn't get one PM concerning it.
