is jerseygirl2's icon offensive to anyone?

look at jerseygirl2's icon: a headshot of a female holding her index and middle open in a "V" sign against her mouth with her tongue flared open and sticking out between the fingers as if she were lapping something up. looks like she is doing a nasty to a vagina.

It's all in how you look at it.

That's your interpretation. I think it looks like a girl excited about giving a peace sign. re: is jerseygirl2's icon offensive to anyone?

I think it's fine.

Honey, you gotta go WAY outta your way to offend this little dog.

If you think that's bad, what must you think of the things RobbO and I post?

re: is jerseygirl2's icon offensive to anyone?

I must admit I was a little startled when I first saw it. But, it's just an avatar picture, it isn't hurting anyone. If that's the image with which she chooses to represent herself, then so be it. There are far more offensive things posted on this board every single day in daily banter.

frankly, i think it is offensive. i think that picture is more offensive than having a bare-chested man as an avatar (which is not allowed).

Well, thank you, RobbO. I'm personally NOT offended by the avatar and think it's funny.
What I don't find funny is that it's allowed to stay while anything gay is popped right out.

Depends on who the bare-chested man is...Andy Rooney-offensive; that guy who plays Aquaman on Smallville who can't act but looks like the reason they made Crisco-not offensive.

Would it be different if it were a man making the same gesture?

I do definitely agree that there is a major double standard.

<---naive here

I had no idea what it was, I thought it might be something dirty, but thought nothing of it. Now that the quarter has dropped, I don't necessarily find it offensive but do wonder why an obscene gesture like that is allowed.

is there a double standard in what icons are allowed to be be used? bikini or skimpy dressed females ok, but bare chested men not ok? would an icon of a male making a gesture that could be read as sexual be allowed to remain?

How utterly observant you are Monsieur Suedenymes.

I'd have never thought of that.

What an interesting deviate little mind you have...

Haven't seen it (will go look now)...but it sounds crude.

I've never gotten the problem with bare-chested men and don't understand why they are deleted. I can understand if they are pornographic in nature, but I'm perfectly happy looking at the male physique.

I think it's misogynistic.

I thought it was a girl trying to cut off her tongue. See! No taksies-backsies!

(j/k...I knew all along it was a V for bagina (to anyone who saw W&G last night.))

Looks like a piece sign, not a peace sign, to me. I think it's in pretty poor taste, so to speak.

i've had this photo deleted several times for being too suggestive.

there's nothing overtly sexual or suggestive about it in comparison to the avatar.
