but surely it won't matter a whit...right? it's just to give her supporters a chanmce to be heard, right?

It's "catharsis" Papa. And it's going to help the Democrats win, just like it did when they did it in 1980...and 1984. Historically, it always works to let the loser have her moment in the sun. Except for every single time.

AH, and the PUMAs are bringing "Stop the Coronation of Nobama" posters to the floor. Excellent.
I think it's great that both the Obama and Clinton teams came to this same conclusion. It honors the history they both made. It allows the process to conclude.
And those who are still screaming and clawing aren't betraying Obama--they are betraying Hillary.
Hopefully it wil stop this nut job delegate, a staunch Hillary supporter, from Boulder who has been going after Bill Compton. She got reported for saying to another delegate that she wasn't going to vote for Obama at the convention. Protocol is that they are to be called in to explain. She instead went to the press and it has become a mess. I am a Hillary supporter but I would not go as far as this woman did.
Wow, I might actually watch some of the convention after all. Sounds like fun.
Obama made this decision.
To go against it, as Joe is doing, claws at the very fabric of the party and does a disservice to the democratic process.
If your hatred of Hillary is that strong, get therapy. But stop tearing the party apart with your Hillary Hatred.
Don't let your Hillary Hatred give Barack an unnecessary sobbing.

That sentiment is shared by Obama advisers, even as reports of tension between her aides and Obama's campaign have proliferated in the press. To the contrary, multiple sources in both campaigns have described the negotiations as relatively free of acrimony. Obama's convention managers and his political are acutely aware of the fact that at least 45% percent of delegates were stalwart backers of Sen. Clinton during the primary.
At no point, according to advisers to both candidates, did Clinton use her leverage over her delegates as a bargaining chip, especially because the Obama campaign, aware of DNC rules, had anticipated the inclusion of Clinton in the formal roll call in some way.
The exact choreography has not been worked out.
It is possible that Sen. Clinton, having had her name submitted, would use the occasion to release her delegates to Obama; depending on how the roll call is staged, Clinton's released delegates could put Obama over the top.
Clinton aides also confirmed, and Obama aides did not dispute, that it was Clinton who informed the Obama campaign that she did not to give the keynote address to the convention. It is not clear whether the Obama camp would have offered the honorific, but they did not, sources said, deliberately deny it to Clinton.

I realize that having had your head up her twat for so long you may have missed a few things. But you're strange obsession with the "woman" in question is far more in need of clinical analysis than any hatred of ours.
And yet you're the one being abusive.

you've clearly not read many of Pal's posts and have never had to dig through one of his angry PMs.
Well, I've seen quite a few.
But it does seem to me that you instantly start hurling abuse. I don't find it a persuasive form of discourse.
But maybe that's just me.
I've never read anything as vile as Liverpool/Chance's posts on Hillary. And that's saying so much around this place.
Well, at least he's calling it a "twat" and not a "c*nt" anymore.
I guess meds CAN curb misogyny.
Just how many accounts is Liverpool/Zoneace/Chance allowed to have?
But surely someone who's so quick to call posters "racist pr*cks" couldn't be misogynist.

If not liking Hilary makes me a misogynist then by the same logic, anyone who doesn't like Obama is a racist.
I don't hate women.
I hate Hilary.
there's a HUGE difference.
I believe it's throwing around the word "tw*t" so blithely that smacks of misogyny.
Annnnnd I still think his projecting mother issues onto Hillary.

No, thank god my mother is nothing like Hilary. My mother is actually a decent human being and not some mythological she-beast.
So is Hillary, actually, a "decent human being."
It's only your ugly misogyny that dehumanizes her into a "mythological she-beast."

Of course, Barack Obama is the nominee of the party. To go against it, as Hillary is doing, claws at the very fabric of the party and does a disservice to the democratic process. No?

But Joe, Hilary is the Man Who Would Be King...err, Man Who Would Be Queen, agh, **** it, you know what i mean.
