so I saw the movie yesterday (one of the perks of having a friend who works at Warner Bros!!) and really loved the movie... I would give it a B+... I won't spoil anything so if anyone has questions you can ask... but I will say it was just a different movie then all the previous movies... eh just in case for people who are really sensitive.. SPOILERS kinda!!!!!! it no longer takes place in Hogwarts and is very much an "adventure" movie although there wasn't too much adventure going on just a lot of "what do we do" and "where do we go" which got boring after a while... but that was probably my only complaint... the deaths in the movie were very sad and to me were very emotional... the acting was just sensational, especially from the adults....returning once again as Dolores Umbridge is Imelda Staunton who still has the role down! what a b*tch! haha.. such a great actress... as well as Helen Bonham Carter who is just takes up the nasty and the evil up... waaay up... and her torture of Hermione (although not seen but heard in a very disturbing way was just really good stuff... Emma Watson can scream believably!) i absolutely loved how they told the story of the deathly hallows... really good animation there... the ending did seem not as natural as i'd want but they did leave it off at a good place... i'm just really excited now for part II!

That's how the book was. There was lots of roaming and hiding, but little they actually did. The deaths seemed to happen very fast and were heartbreaking.

Where is the "break"?

Put more succinctly, what event ends parts 1?

Jerseygirl.. I read the book so I know that's how it was... it just didn't translate well (for me that is) as too exciting on screen.. but it was still good

and again.. SPOILER

adamgreer... the break is at the death of dobby (which really made me sad) and then voldemort finding the elder wand

the Break happens at the end of Chapter 24, when.....

SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER

when...Voldemort steals the Elder wand.

So, basically the majority of the second film will be the battle, becuase it will start from "Shell Cottage".

As long as my favorite line in all of literature makes it into part 2, I'll be perfectly happy.

It's got to be from Molly Weasley, right? My wife will probably throw something at the screen during the second movie if that line's not in there...

Yup, it's Molly Weasley's line during the last battle. If it isn't included, I might walk out (jk, well not really).

yeah i hope that line is in there... in fact... when i read that line in the book i immediately was picturing Julie Walters saying it!! and i'm more excited because of Helena Bonaham Carter's portrayal in this movie is just so evil and nasty and vicious... that line will have a lot more emotion when said to her!

Books are one thing, movies are another. Marketing, demographics and box office are king(s). The powers that be don't want to anger anyone, be it fan, casual moviegoer, parent, or the League of Meddling Obsessive Neurotics Who Complain about Everything. I'd say the line has about a 14% chance of making it into the movie.

SPOILER!!!

i wouldn't see why the line wouldn't be in the movie... the scene with Hermione and Harry kissing was pretty graphic for a Harry Potter... hell you even got side boob action from Emma Watson!!! haha

SPOILER

Yeah I read about that online. Radcliffe said that Watson 'was a bit of an animal' as she just went for it pretty vigorously when he thought it would be soft and sensual. Rupert Grint had to leave the set because it was cracking him up.
