putting spoilers just in case someone out there reads this thread and gets mad knowing a movie's plot and/or ending
i am rewatching ALIENS and I love this movie... but when Hudson and Vasquez die it's pretty sad to me... Bill Paxton plays a good character with some good lines (game over, man!)... Jenette Goldstein was damn good as the tomboyish Vasquez... she just had good presence and i loved her character.. when they both died it was sad... i always want them to make it through to the end
any movie characters that died that got you emotional?

Thelma & Louise- I was not upset, I loved the ending.
Ofelia in Pan's Labyrinth
Non-Fictional Character deaths:
Harvey Milk
Chris McCandless
Big Mama in "Soul Food." I thought I was going to hyperventilate the first time I saw it.
Lester Burnham in American Beauty. I still cry everytime Annette Bening grasps at all his clothes in his closet after he dies.
At the end of "A League of Thier Own" when you find out that Jimmy Dugan has died, that always makes me sappy.
Scar in "The Lion King"
Thomas J. - MY GIRL
"He can't see without his glasses!"
Pippin, I was always more upset to find out that Evelyn had died. Especially when Stillwell says that she always said it was the best time she ever had in her whole life.
I also sobbed when Ellie died in Up.

although we never meet him... I always get sad when Betty Spaghetti's husband dies!! it's hard to watch that scene because that actress has an emotional reaction!
Artax in The Never Ending Story
DID YOU HAVE TO INCLUDE A PICTURE?! D-:
Oh gawd, Artax. That really got to me.
I always cry when that little girls pony dies, too.

When the boy in PAY IT FORWARD got stabbed at the end, I almost hurled my glass through the tv screen.
Ruth in FRIED GREEN TOMATOES
"Tell me a story, Idgie. Tell me a good tall tale. Tell me the one about the lake...."

Pan's Labyrinth

Oh Lord te last 10 minutes of ATONEMENT make me weep!

I think it was worse in the book, but Cedric Diggory's death choked me up. Or maybe it was more Amos' reaction to his death.

A lot of the same ones that have already been mentioned.
I had no idea how Marley and Me ends prior to renting it. I was so bummed, cried like a baby. I heard a story from our son about a couple (the husband is a friend of his) who went to see M&M, also clueless to the ending, and afterwards the wife was just completely inconsolable. Oh, did I mention it was during their honeymoon?
Tom Robinson in To Kill A Mockingbird. It's weird, no matter how many times I see that movie something in me hopes it's going to end differently for him. I mean I realize(obviously) it won't, but I want it to, if that makes sense.
Mr. D (played by Ryan Reynolds) in School of Life. TV movie (so hope it counts) that I found on Netflix Instant. I cried and cried at the end.
Those are the ones coming immediately to mind at the moment. - Barb
