AMDA is a school in NYC and LA and it does not require SAT scores. It just requires that you have a diploma from high school of some sort. I am getting my GED and I am still aloud to audition. There is an integrated program (for musical theatre students) and a studio program (strictly acting, more geared towards film and television). Auditions are usually in march but there could be more dates. http://www.amda.edu/

Boston requires an SAT score.
and chances are...if you're passionate about this craft and have supposedly evaluated acting and musical theatre performance schools and haven't heard of the Boston Conservatory as a place to study, you've got some work to do. lol.
AMDA is really going to be your only option, but it's not a college. It's a two year program and you don't get a degree. Unless that's what you want.
I mean...the only reason I want a degree is to say I have that 4 extra years of training you know? Academics are not my thing. Granted I'm still in Honors and AP and I trudge my way through, but I HATE every second of it.
I suggest going back and taking the SAT this October and waiting till next year and enrolling yourself in a good solid program thats gonna give you a great background and training but doesn't have crazy academic standards.
If you take that option, then you should look into the University of Northern Colorado, CCM, BoCo, or Webster
but without the SAT scores...AMDA. or the New York Conservatory, but thats more for film and television.

Posted: 6/5/08 at 1:06amI don't think Temple University requires SAT scores, and is quickly becoming a highly respected theatre school - one of their productions is transferring to the Culture Project this fall.

Posted: 6/25/08 at 2:33pmIf you want a 4 year accredited college, University of the Arts in Philly and California Institute of the Arts in Valencia don't require scores and they are both really good schools for acting

You must be accepted to the college before you can be accepted into a theatre program (in 99% of cases). This means that your academics must be up to par before they even consider your audition.
