I never listened to Green Day before but I loved the title song to "American Idiot" when I heard it and I said that I had to go and buy that cd and now I even put my broadway cds on hold so I can listen to it. Today I went and bought their "International Superhits" cd and I actually know a couple of the songs that I didn't know it was Green Day that sang them. GREAT BAND!!!

I second all of the praise for American Idiot. It rocks.
The new releases by Jimmy Eat World (Futures) and Rufus Wainwright (Want Two) are both well worth checking out. Beautiful music.
As for Florence Foster Jenkins... if only I were that confident! : )

I have been listening to Billy Talent a lot lately, and listening to old Something Corperate. And Vertical Horizon is always classic.
