The cats vs. dogs thread inspired this.
Which do you like better purebreds or mutts.
I choose muts. I got both my dogs at local shelters and love them to pieces.

Definately mutts. They're not as stuck up and snobby as those purbreds.

Mutts! My puppy is the ulitmate mutt and he is the best dog ever. My dog at home w/my parents is a mutt too and the sweetest dog you'll ever meet!
I did have a purebred once though and loved her more than words can say! I just think mutts are usually the dogs at shelters and those are the dogs that really need you!
"haha. Plus they are healthier. Not all that inbreeding!"
Yup yup.
Mutts of course! Mine's a mutt and I love her to death, she's perfect.
What kinds of mutts do all you have?
I have a German Shepard/Lab mix she was the runt of the litter. We got her from a kill shelter where they only have 2 weeks to find the dogs homes then thats it. She was there 2 weeks and 2 days. They kept her a bit longer because they liked her, but if we didnt come that day they wouldn't have been able to keep her any longer.
The other is a Rotweiler mix. Mother was a rotti and no clue who the father is. He is tall and lanky and a curly tail. He is dorky and I am 100% sure that he is gay.
We believe mine is collie/American Eskimo. She's very fluffy!
My 2 cats were "mutts " plus the 2 dogs I had
If you go to a shelter, you save an animal from bring destroyed

Miss Holly is a purebred, but she's a bad girl kicked out of her purebred home in Chalfont, PA.
She was born to a family of show dogs, but her legs were too long for her to be considered "breed standard" and "show quality." So she was mated--to the top fox terrier stud in the country (Champion Bully Bully)!
But when the puppies all came out with their mother's long legs, they were sold for pets and Miss Holly was put out to pasture.
That's when we brought her to New York, where she could live proudly among other long-legged bitches.
Oh how mean of them! But at least you got her! A dog is a dog. Why does it matter how long their legs are. *sigh*

Mutts! I have 4 of them! However I am looking for the fit in your pocket type and sometimes you have to have a pure bred for that but who knows maybe I will find another mutt that weighs less than 5 pounds!
I am partial to yorkshire terriers but I love all dogs.

my dog, Alex P. Keaton (10 1/2 months), is an Australian Cattle Dog/Jack Russel mix. He's the best puppy ever! Updated On: 10/9/04 at 11:51 PM
I love whatever is sweet and cute. I had a pure bred for 12 years, but now, we have 2 from the animal shelter and they are gorgeous and wonderful, as well.
All dogs are great as long as they are good-natured!
I've worked with a LOT of dogs... definitely mutts. They have qualities of all different breeds, and have much better personalities, usually.
My dog's a German Shepherd/Siberian Huskey mix and is the most adorable, goofy thing imaginable. So I say mutts.
shesings,
What a cutie!
That bowtie is very adorable.
Dogs are so sweet. We had a c**ker spaniel for 14 years before she died. She was so cute, another runt of the litter who was not considered to be "show quality"
My Abbey Road's a purebred and I love her to pieces
shesings, Alex is ADORABLE!
And I love all dogs. Big, small, cute, ugly, it really doesn't matter to me.
