"Blood Drips on Newsies Square" is a hilarious, homemade, horror-movie spoof that several of the Newsies filmed during their down time on the set of Newsies.
It was directed my Michael Goorjian (Skittery). As far as the premise goes, basically Mark David (Specs) plays actor Don Knotts, who goes on a killing spree after director Kenny Ortega denies him a role in Newsies and kicks him off of the set.
This little gem surfaced a little over a year ago. I'm not sure if this is entirely accurate, but apparently Michael Goorjian found this movie while going through some old tapes, allowed his friend to put it up for sale on the internet, and was amazed at how much it sold for and how many interested buyers there were. As a result, it was put up for sale on www.blooddripsonnewsiessquare.com
If you're a fan of Newsies, you'll love this short film. Those innocent, singing and dancing newsboys are portrayed in an entirely different light. In short, it's just a bunch of talented teenage guys messing around and having fun. Definitely check it out if you can.
ETA- There's also an IMDB listing for this. http://imdb.com/title/tt0478982/

Cool! Does anyone know if I can walk into a blockbuster and rent it?
Oh my God!
I watched this movie probably a total of 27 times over the course of last year (in chorus). My teacher was always out and we were doing a medley from it, so naturally, he had the sub put it on for us.

Unfortunately, no.
It's not an actual movie that was produced and released and all the rest of it, it's basically just what happens when you get a couple of bored teenage boys on the set of a movie with a video camera. Michael Goorjian, recognizing some fan interest, was nice enough to offer it up for sale on his own accord. The whole film runs about 25 minutes long, and the only place to purchase it is online. If I remember correctly, it costs 25 bucks and comes on VHS, which I think is pretty steep, but if you've got the extra cash, I'd say go for it. Keep in mind that it was filmed 15 years ago on a regular VHS camcorder, and was re-produced in mass amounts for a multitude of fangirls; so while the quality isn't crisp and polished, it's still really quite good.

Thankyou! Im excited! Cant wait to see it
Are you freakin' kidding me? Newsies is my all time favorite movie. I've seen it SO many times. In high school we used to get together and watch it every week. Good songs. Cute guys. What more could you want? "Headlines don't sell papers, Newsies sell papers"
Was the kid from "Big" in that movie?
"Was the kid from "Big" in that movie?"
Yes he was. David Moscow...or David in Newsies...was Tom Hanks friend in Big. When they were little obviously.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this movie. I bought the soundtrack 3 times because the first one was on tape . . . the second one was on cd but was played so much that it got scratched . . . the third one met the same fate. I need to get it again.
Oh Christian Bale, how I love you and your fake, fake New York accent.
i fell in love with Christian Bale with this movie. so cool!!!
This is kind of random, but I love the voice of the guy who sings the line "for a buck I might" in "Carrying The Banner." Someone told me his name once but I can't seem to find where I wrote it down lol.

Jessica, that's the one and only Michael Goorjian (Skittery).
Most recently, he directed and starred in the film Illusion (with Kirk Douglas).
