that obama nation is going to debut at #1 on the ny times best seller list.
that's gonna be a bit inconvenient, no?
the msm cannot ignore the #1 best selling non-fiction book in the country...can they?
i wonder how long the buzz from this sucker will last?
oh, and to you brainiacs who are already typing, "i just looked at the ny times best sellers and it isn't even on there!!!!" do take the time to see what the date is on that list: sales for the week ending 7/26. the new one comes out on the 17th and i'm betting that obama nation is going to be #1.
who wants to bet?
#1 in the charts, #1 in our hearts

Posted: 8/7/08 at 11:56amI know you don't like the attack the messenger method, papa, but I love that the current noise machine mantra is "Hey, media, pay attention to the National Enquirer and some racist homophobe from FreeRepublic. People like him. Just like they like Larry the Cable Guy. Popularity means truth. Always!

It's not a rumor. The Times releases the bestseller list to the trade each Wednesday for the issue the consumer sees 10 days later.
On the list dated August 17, the top 10 nonfiction titles are:
1. Obama Nation
2. David Sedaris
3. Tori Spelling
4. Chelsea Handler
5. Dick Morris

Oh, please. I could totally make my fortune by taking a dump in between two covers, slapping "Obama Will Be The End Of America As We Know It" and putting it in bookstores across the country.
Expect to see more.

calvin, i cannot help what the taste of the american people happens to be.
my point was that regardless of who this guy is, if he's got the #1 book in america - particularly if that book happens to be about one of the two presidential candidates - he's going to be splashed all over the airwaves.
they are not going to ignore the #1 book in america despite the hysterical rantings of media matters.
he's going to be on morning shows and cable talk and the pundits will be talking about it.
even if they just talk about it as a pack of lies, they are extending it and putting the name further out into the american consciousness.

#9re: rumor has it
Posted: 8/7/08 at 1:23pmeasy there, joe, before you go calling them scurrilous you'd better talk with bammy's bff wind magnate t. boone pickens who still has $1m on the table for anyone who can disprove even one of their charges. just one.

I'd like to offer $250,000 for anyone who can come up with film or video footage of Judy at Carnegie Hall or Ethel in Gypsy.
Also, a pony.

No, PJ. That's not the approach.
In this vein, you must make the offer to anyone who can empirically prove that no such footage of either event exists.
