It reminds me of a Twilight Zone/Night Gallery type TV show I will never forget about the moon becoming super bright and scientists finally figure out that it's because the sun has gone nova and the side facing it has been destroyed and as the earth rotates the Western Hemisphere will too...Still spooks me.

Joe, I remember that one! Holy crap it scared me too!

There was a similar one with a kid who could see to days into the future with 100% accuracy. He one day says that in two days time, all wars will stop and there will be an end to poverty and illness. Everyone is to celebrate.
He gives a world wide newscast and the world begins it's party. He reveals after the news report that in fact in two days the sun will Super Nova and the Earth will be destroyed in a flash.
