They can suspend politicians over there? Wow. If we had that here W would DEFINITELY be on academic probation, at least.
he's been on double secret probation since 9/11, but rummy and turd blossom stole the records. without them dean reid can't expell him so he's been forced to send the omegas, led by kerry and kennedy and their girlfriends nancy and babs to try to lure them into some sort of trap. something to do with "fizzies."*

When the term "politically correct" came into our lexicon, free speech offically died
Politically correct speech was initially a positive trend that made people conscious avoiding commonly used words and phrases that were degrading to others. The others in question tended to be women, minorities, or gays...and the use of derogatory terms was a mechanism that contributed to oppression.
Political correctness is a good idea that has just been too far in some instances.

So if Roxy wants to use the n-word or call women that word that DAME called me or Papa a fag, let him. That way he can't say free speech is dead.
flitty, thanks for sharing that, sweetie. *pat on the behind*
you know how i know you're gay, namo? you capitalized my name.
Papa...as long as I can "hear" you ranting and raving, I know free speech exists. It's oddly comforting.
that's me, baby, oddly comforting.

You know how I know you're gay? You didn't correct Iflit for capitalizing your name. You're gay for girls.
I thought old Namo had mellowed re yours truly. Obviously, I was wrong.
Namo, I would never use either word but trying to plead my case to you ( not that I should have to anyway) would be a total exercise in futility

It's funny. In my native land the word "mulato" is used regularly and it describes over half of our population. When I moved to the states I was told not to use that word, it was pejorative. Odd.

Roxy, my point was exactly WHAT have you personally lost by the encroachment of what you call "pc?" How are you restricted, what words or phrases do you long to use that you simply can't because "free speech is dead" thanks to "pc?"
Please, list the ways in which your speech is stunted, the words and phrases you'd use if you "could," and most importantly, why you want to use them.
I just think whining about pc is lazy. And I wonder why people who do the whining never bother to explain what they mean.
It's the spirit of honest inquiry, Rox.
I think the point is that you have no idea when and if you indeed ARE offending someone these days. Words which you innocently use are suddenly not PC. People are over sensitive and thus it's impossible to make a list.

"People are over sensitive and thus it's impossible to make a list."
Actually, it would seem to be the overly sensitive person who is afraid of saying something in case it is "suddenly" wrong.
Oh come on Namo. It doesn't take being overly sensitive to want to avoid some kind of bruhaha. I call it prudence.
