i just used one of those awful illegal services to watch the first episode of this show which won't air until 9/1. i have to think that they allowed it to slip out just to prove how f***ing good it is. and it is.

mid range matt. it was just great. i love sorkin's writing. i mean i may have been the only republican who was a fanatic of the first few years of the west wing.

After all these years, I'm still on the fence about the West Wing. Maybe it's becuse I've never liked anything with the President as a character. I watched it when I came across it surfing, but that's about it.

I did watch more when I lived in California. I met a guy who worked on the show.

I need to call him and see what he's doing now.

Not for that role, no, but Sorkin used her on Sports Night and, by all accounts, she blew her performance in Housewives out of the water.
Or was at least amazing. Considering how good she is, I'd like to see her under some better writing (which, it seems, isn't coming for DH).
And howzabout that Judd Hirsch? That was Judd, right? Lord, when people age before our eyes on a television screen, it's hard to remember who they are/were.

I thought the last three, maybe four, episodes of DH were good, but everything before that sucked.
I hope next season's better.
And didn't Sports Night only last a season?

Sports Night pretty much got the can when Sorkin decided to focus on West Wing. Some critics vastly preferred Sports Night but it did not have the ratings of the Wing.

More Studio 60 thoughts as I'm watching it: What a damn shame I just don't buy the words coming out of Amanda Peet's mouth. She doesn't have the intellectual bearing to bring about to make her character really seem capable of uttering those words.

I actually saw Judd in the Odd Couple. He did look old then but you know, far away onstage, you look a lot different than up close and personal (even with makeup and soft focus) on the telly.
