In the Times Square area, please. My now southern mum is visiting and really wants deli. (kosher not necessary) Deli is not my go to, and the few I went to are no more.
Thanks in advance foe any suggestions.

Does it need to be in Times Square? My favorite is Katz, 205 East Houston. (Cash only). Take the F train Downtown to Second Avenue Station.

Posted: 7/4/14 at 11:24pmSince you made it very clear you were looking for something in the Times Square area, I'll limit my suggestions to those that meet your location criteria. Probably the best quality wise is the Carnegie Deli on 7th avenue between 54th and 55th street. Closer to Times Square, the best value pricewise and still very solid deli as has been mentioned is Ben's Deli on 38th. The rest in the Times Square area are overpriced tourist traps.

Thanks for the replies. Yes, we are only in the city for the day, getting in just before noon and seeing two shows so getting downtown is out of the question.
I'd heard of Bens, so getting the thumbs up is great.
Thanks again for the info. Bubie will be thrilled!

Posted: 7/5/14 at 7:43amSecond Ave. Deli is probably the best in town but it's in the 30's, not Times Sq.
