omg, y'all know it was probably the nypd that did it so they could impose even more draconian rules upon the oppressed bag-bearing manhattanites.
on a side note, a cop poked his head onto my downtown 4 train this morning and took a quick glance around and got a burst of applause. he looked so shocked and then just sheepish as a carful of straphangers cheered him for merely doing his job.
